My Fall Wedding

Happy Friday Eve!! I bet everyone is looking forward to the weekend…I know I am! We have 2 events this weekend and 3 more next weekend…whew!! BUSY! 🙂

Well, since we are almost to the fall season I thought sharing some of my wedding photos would be appropriate. 🙂 I had my ceremony at St. Gregory the Great and my reception at the old Cavalier on the hill.  I did a lot of my decor on a budget-I tried not to use too many flowers in the centerpieces, so I accompanied them with a white pumpkin and spray painted them with a light dust of gold glitter. Using white pumpkins rather than orange gave more of a formal and unique look. My other centerpieces were long hay looking strands (some painted gold)…these definitely incorporated textures found during the fall season. You will notice I used sashes on the pews of the church rather than expensive flowers. I also had chair covers and sashes at my reception…A MUST FOR ME! Lastly, the programs, thank you cards, and seating cards were all done by my friends and I. A BIG thanks to Angela Gainer for your countless hours of gluing and bow tying! haha

Well I hope you enjoy!

Thank you Charlie Gunter Photography for capturing my special day!

Falling Into Love

It’s almost that time of year again, when the weather is nearly perfect…the temperature has cooled just enough to enjoy the outdoors and the foliage is gorgeous. Bring these fall colors into your wedding with Waterford Event Rentals’ large array of colors and sash tie options. The red Rosetta tie is a beautiful way to bring a touch of floral without the cost of real flowers. If you are looking to save money try using pumpkins and fall leaves to decorate.

More fall ideas coming this week!

Looking forward to our events this weekend! 🙂

Backyard Wedding

Having a “backyard” wedding is a great way to save money. You can have a “backyard” wedding and still achieve a classy, well put together appearance. One of our favorite ideas is using black and white checkered table cloths with black sashes.

Decorate the table with fresh cut flowers from your garden in collected wine bottles or place the flowers in tin watering cans. You can also use flowers from your local nursery and place them in small baskets. Put personalized labels on flavored meat rubs that double as place cards and wedding favors.

Congrats Rebecca and Matthew Cook

Matt and Rebecca Cook had their reception at the Shifting Sands on Dam Neck base. We enjoyed transforming their event!! We wish the couple much love and luck!

A New Look For Folding Chairs

Let’s face it…WEDDINGS ARE EXPENSIVE!!! When you are faced with having to rent your own chairs, you may want to save some money and go with the fan back folding chair. This chair is usually $1.75 a piece vs. the chiavari chair at $7.00. Spruce it up by adding a sash!

Above is a picture from my daughter’s birthday party. I added black sashes to improve the look of the folding chairs I rented. The guests were definitely impressed with this added touch.

Having a backyard wedding or rehearsal dinner?? Definitely think about spending just a few extra bucks on sashes…it will surely be worth it!

Thanks Charlie Gunter Photography for the amazing picture!

Vintage Garden

September is the perfect time of year for an outdoor wedding. Gardens are in bloom and the weather is just right.  We chose to display hydrangeas because they’re classy and inexpensive. Waterford Event Rentals, blue 120, matches perfectly with many shades of hydrangeas.

Choosing a theme for your wedding can help steer you in the right direction for planning.  For Example:  A Vintage/ Romantic/ Victorian Garden.

  • Make your grand entrance by strolling in on a horse drawn carriage.
  • Offer guests parasols to block the sun or fans that double as programs.
  • Be eco-friendly by using plantable place cards.
  • Serve tea and crumpets.
  • Remember flowers can be expensive…to cut costs consider decorating the aisles with sashes.

Have a great Week!
