Waterford Wednesday: A Crystal Clear Vision

It’s Waterford Wednesday!
These past few weeks have been crazy busy as we plan our 2015 A Crystal Clear Vision bridal event. We are just FOUR days out from this one of a kind “live Pinterest” style event and we’re beyond excited! Since A Crystal Clear Vision is THIS Sunday, we thought we’d recap everything you need to know for this year’s event as well as give you some special promotions offered to those that attend!

Event Date: THIS Sunday, March 29th, 2015 from 1-4pm!
Location: The Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront
Tickets: If you haven’t purchased tickets to the event yet, click here for a special on Hampton Roads My Perks where you will receive TWO tickets for just $5!
Prizes: All brides that attend this year’s event will receive a free sweetheart table linen rental as well as 10% of their entire rental order! Another one of the big prizes up for grabs is a trip to Massanutten that two lucky attendees will receive!

A Crystal Clear Vision: 2015 Participants

Waterford Wednesday: Renting vs. Buying Linens

We’re back again for another edition of Waterford Wednesday!
Today we are going to discuss a topic of debate regarding linens: renting vs. buying.
Sometimes, clients believe that buying linens for their event rather than renting is a better option. However, there are many reasons why this is definitely not the case, and we’re going to break down a few of them today!

Quality

When you’re investing in linens for your big day or event, the quality is very important! You don’t want to end up with linens that you bought for cheap to come in with very thin fabric and low thread count. There would be nothing worse than receiving linens that you could see straight through! A rental company will ensure you have excellent quality linens at an affordable rental price. We pride ourselves on providing only high quality fabrics that are essentially wrinkle-free!

Sizing
One of the perks of renting linens compared to buying is the hands on assistance you will receive when renting. At Waterford, we hold a design meeting with each of our clients which helps in assuring you are renting the correct size linens to fit your chair and tables. This service is basically like having your own personal Linen Coordinator! You won’t receive this type of service when renting from a random website.

Ironing Expense
A HUGE incentive to rent linens rather than buying comes in the form of ironing. If you choose to buy, you run the high risk of your linens being delivered in very small packages which makes the process of ironing out all the wrinkles extremely difficult. At Waterford, we use a laundering facility that is equipped with extremely large industrial pressing machines so the task of ironing linens is not another worry that is added to your list!

One of the biggest reasons that renting is a more effective option compared to buying is the ability to actually see the linens you are potentially going to rent. When you go into a business to rent linens you are presented with the opportunity to personally view the items and ensure the style, texture, and colors are exactly what you want! If you choose to buy your linens, there is no guarantee that the color you see on a website will look the same in person. The stress of a potentially mismatched color scheme is not something you want to stress about on your big day!

Feature Friday: Shamrock Stylized Shoot

It’s Feature Friday!
Today we are excited to feature a Shamrock/Irish inspired stylized shoot photographed by Caitlin Gerres Photography. The shoot was designed to showcase inspiration for a bridal shower and featured two of our specialty linens. Our white petal linen served as the base of the mock guest table while our white pinchwheel linen was featured on the drink/cake table. The whole shoot was featured and detailed on the fabulous Tidewater and Tulle blog, including all of the amazing vendors involved! Waterford Wednesday: Random Tips Part 2

Happy Waterford Wednesday!
Wow, we can’t believe it’s already March! Spring {and hopefully some warmer weather} is right around the corner and we can’t wait! February flew by and we’ve been super busy getting everything in order for our Crystal Clear Vision event at the end of the month. Last week, we posted some random tips about the linen rental process and today we are back for part 2! The event planning process can become extremely stressful, so why not have some helpful tips when diving into the planning?!

Don’t Forget Essential Linens!

We see this happen time and time again! Brides are so excited about the linen choices they have picked out for their receptions that they completely forget to include themselves in the guest count! There would be nothing worse than getting to your reception only to realize you forgot to rent chair covers and sashes for yourself! Table linens for the DJ or photo booth props are often overlooked as well. Make sure you are aware of all tables and chairs {even extra} that need to be covered so everything looks cohesive!

Triple Check Table Sizes!Size60RTC2We’ve worked with many of the venues around Hampton Roads, so we are pretty familiar with the table sizes that each offer, but it’s always a good idea to check and make sure the table sizes you have rented linens for is correct. Ordering the incorrect table linen size could be the difference between having full length linens that reach the floor, or a linen that shows clear under the table.

Keep An Open Mind!
When we host our appointments with potential clients, we treat it as a design style meeting. We are really interested in helping you create your dream vision as far as linens are concerned. While it is important to make sure your event reflects exactly what you want, we have extensive experience and ideas based on trends and looks that we know to look beautiful. Keeping an open mind could result in choosing linens that you may not have considered, but end up being the perfect balance you were looking for! Our Crystal Clear Vision show is an excellent opportunity to gain ideas that you may not have thought of!
