Waterford Wednesday: Picking Linen Colors

It’s Waterford Wednesday!
Today is all about deciding on linen colors for your event! Picking linen colors can sometimes be a difficult part of your reception planning process, but it doesn’t have to be! With a new season upon us, we always see a shift in the color choices that our clients choose so it’s the perfect time to list some of our best tips for picking the best linen colors for your event!

Get Inspiration

First things first: Get Inspired! Planning any big event can be stressful enough without having to think about what color scheme you’re going to want! But, lucky for you, there are SO MANY bridal magazines and wedding websites/blogs where countless ideas and designs can be at your fingertips! Searching through various visual collections will give you ideas on attractive color combinations as well as give you a sense of what colors you are drawn to.

Embrace White & Neutrals!

Many think that white linens are too “boring” or “basic” but they don’t have to be! White is a standard color for many events, as that is what most people use as the base for their guest tables. White is crisp and clean, but it certainly doesn’t have to be boring! Adding major pops of color or texture on white is the perfect way to add attention! Whether it be rosette on mesh table runners, or napkins in varying shades, accentuate the white!

Don’t let the “norm” get in the way of what you like. Just because you’re having a fall or winter event doesn’t mean you can’t include summer colors! Choose colors that you love and that will leave a lasting impression of your event! Often times, colors that aren’t frequently used together come together beautifully when mixed correctly. At the end of the day, this is YOUR event!

Waterford Wednesday: Falling For Lace

Happy Fall, y’all!
We know that fall doesn’t technically arrive until tomorrow, but we’ve been in the spirit since September started! As summer comes to a close, we are more than excited to see the shift in weddings that fall will bring. We’re dreaming of burlap, deeper colors, and of course. . .more lace! Lace is a fabric that transitions so seamlessly from season to season, and it has been a huge trend this year. We’ve added so many beautiful lace linens to our inventory and we can’t wait to see them transitioned from event to event! Check out some of our favorite lace pictures from the year so far:Demi&Brandon_Reception-0005Elizabeth Henson Photos – Vintage Floral LaceView More: http://audreyrosephotography.pass.us/briannaandshawnAudrey Rose Photography – Vintage Floral Laceunspecified-10Amanda Manupella Photography  – Ivory Victorian Lace Runner

See what we mean about Lace being so versatile?! Lace is such a sophisticated style of fabric that it can really be utilized in some way, no matter what your theme is (evidenced by the varying pictures above!) Whether it’s a romantic tablescape, or a rustic/antique style design, you can’t go wrong with Lace! We love that Lace is an essentially see-through fabric, so it doesn’t restrict you to only using lighter colors that match perfectly…it’s so easy to play around with different colors and fabrics underneath! Lace linens, with their classic and timeless appeal will always be a favorite here at Waterford!

Waterford Wednesday: Romantic Portsmouth Wedding

Happy Waterford Wednesday!
We’re excited to share some beautiful images from a romantic Portsmouth wedding we were a part of last month! Shelby + Eric got married at the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth and Crystal Belcher Photography captured their day so beautifully! Not only were we obsessed with the linens and chairs that they chose, but the topnotch group of vendors that they put together made this wedding one to remember! Check out some of our favorite shots from Crystal:wedding-photography-186-of-863wedding-photography-548-of-863

Our khaki table linens, ivory napkins, and gold glass beaded chargers were the perfect trio to make up the beautiful and elegant guest tables! Our gold chiavari chairs with ivory chiffon sashes weaved through the back complimented the blush and gold vintage place settings on the sweetheart table that Mad Hatter Vintage created. And don’t even get us started on that stunner of a backdrop that Bluebird’s Garage created! Congratulations Shelby + Eric!
