Waterford Wednesday: 2017 Year In Review

It’s the last Waterford Wednesday of 2017, friends!
We can hardly believe that 2018 is almost here! These year in review posts are always one of our favorites to write because it gives us a chance to reflect on the past year and some of our favorite milestones and goals we achieved. 2017 was another amazing year for Waterford as we continued to grow and stay on trend with the ever-changing industry. We couldn’t have imagined all of the amazing accomplishments we would have achieved this past year. Take a look at some of our favorite and most exciting moments of the year!

Winter
Our 2017 started off on a high note when we announced that we had again received a 2017 Couples’ Choice Award from WeddingWire. This was our 5th year to be recognized and we were just as thrilled as when we got the award our first year! Winter also saw us putting the final touches on our A Crystal Clear Vision 2017 bridal show – our biggest one yet! We knew the spring and summer months were going to be crazy for Waterford, so we were on the hunt for some awesome interns and event staff, while also attending many bridal shows to meet new brides! Rebecca and Brigitte manned our Waterford booth at both the DIY Bridal Expo and the VOW Bridal Showcase – both shows we love to attend every year!

Spring came this year, and so did all the styled shoots! This shoot for Coastal Virginia Bride Magazine with Misty Saves the Day (featuring our girl Hayley) was one of our favorites of the year! Of course, the biggest event this spring was our 2017 A Crystal Clear Vision Show! It was a magical day featuring the best of the best vendors in Coastal Virginia. To see all of our hardwork and planning come to fruition was an amazing feeling! If you missed our posts showing off all of the tablescapes at the show, you can view them here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

Summer is when the true Waterford hustle comes in to play! This summer saw our Waterford girls (and guys!) running from venue to venue doing setups and breakdowns, but that didn’t stop us from having fun in other areas too! We were thrilled to be a part of “The Creative’s Dinner” thrown by the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Rising Tide Society. The unique event, held at the Historic Post Office, was an actual dinner/gathering with a style shoot aspect taking place as well – how cool! Speaking of the Historic Post Office, we were also able to attend the 2017 ILEA Gala at this beautiful new venue as well! We were excited to provide the linens and chiavari chairs at the “A Night Under the Stars” themed event! This summer we also continued our tradition of taking updated staff photos, and Kirstyn Marie Photography knocked it out of the park with our individual and group shots!

Wrapping up our year, the biggest event was of course Rebecca’s wedding! It was a highly anticipated event and it was the most beautiful wedding – we can’t wait to share more pictures with you all! After announcing earlier in the year that A Crystal Clear Vision 2018 would be held at the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth, we’ve had fun over the past couple of months teasing the participants for the show this year! Another exciting moment was announcing that we had retired the sparkle Waterford shoe, and moved on to something a little more Waterford blue! And of course, we couldn’t let the holidays pass without our annual Christmas party as well!

We can’t WAIT to see what amazing things 2018 brings, see you next year!
