Waterford Wednesday: 1 Linen, 3 Ways

It’s Waterford Wednesday!
Can you believe that we’re already nearing the end of July? This month/wedding season is completely flying by for us with so many events and design meetings for sweet clients. Today we’ve got a “1 Linen, 3 Ways” post to share, this time featuring one of our favorite linens – Vintage Floral Lace Overlays! These beauties are so versatile as you’ll see below!
Photo: Audrey Rose Photography
Remember this beautiful head table from a vintage wedding at MOCA back in July 2016? This table design is still one of our favorites, and our Vintage Lace Overlays over the Periwinkle Satin full length linens was absolutely gorgeous! Like we mentioned before, our Vintage Lace Overlays are so versatile that they aren’t just delegated to round tables, you can use two or three to create the same type of look on long tables too!
Photo: Elizabeth Henson Photos
This “vintage blush” themed sweetheart table still rocks our world! Let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong when combining blush + vintage anything, and this table is the perfect example of an airy, dainty, and romantic design. The delicate look of our Vintage Floral Lace Overlay on top of a shiny Majestic table linen tied the table together so nicely!

Last but not least is this bold and beautiful table design that features our black Vintage Lace Overlay from A Crystal Clear Vision 2015! We love a bold design and the black Vintage Lace Overlay paired with a Red Satin linen underneath compliment each other so well! This linen could definitely be transitioned to many different seasons by placing a different satin colored linen underneath it as well!

Waterford Wednesday: ILEA Gala 2017

It’s Waterford Wednesday – and we’ve got a post full of pretty for you!
Last month, we had the opportunity to attend the 2017 ILEA (International Live Events Association) Gala held at The Historic Post Office! Our very own Alyse and Rebecca were part of the gala committee tasked with planning the beautiful “A Night Under the Stars” themed event. Not only were we excited to be attending, but also providing all of the linens and chiavari chairs for the Gala! With a top notch vendor list that included some of Hampton Roads best, this was an event that we will remember for a long time! Dragon Studio captured the most beautiful photos at the Gala – check out some of our favorite shots below, and check out his blog post for more!Amazing, right? It’s unbelievable how talented Hampton Roads event professionals are! To be able to transform an already beautiful venue into something so magical is no small feat, and it definitely took a village! Since the Gala was held at The Historic Post Office this year, our beautiful mahogany chiavari chairs that we store onsite at the venue were able to be utilized. In addition to our chairs, we made sure to bring some sparkle with our Black Tinsel linen, Black Petal linen, Champagne Sequin Runners, and Navy Polyester Napkins adorning the tables. The darker colors matched the theme perfectly and complimented the STUNNING dripping lights that Stage Right Lighting set up. Our Gold Beaded Glass Chargers were placed at each seat and surrounded by Chic Unique Vintage Rentals & Events vintage china, Sweetwater Cuisine meals, Candie’s Treats individual naked cakes, and  Isha Foss Events beautiful centerpieces!

We can’t wait for all of the amazing networking and educational opportunities ILEA Hampton Roads has planned over this next year!

Waterford Wednesday: Head Table vs. Sweetheart Table

Happy Waterford Wednesday, we hope everyone had a fantastic Fourth of July!
When planning a wedding reception, one aspect that brides/grooms need to decide on is – head table vs. sweetheart table. While this may seem like a trivial decision to some, there is often a lot of back and forth on which one to choose, so today we’re here to help you out! We’ve come up with a list of questions to ask yourself that will hopefully steer you toward the right decision for you/your event!

Do you have a wedding party?
Photo: Erika Mills Photography
This may seem like a silly question, BUT if your wedding party is very tiny, this might be a question you should consider! For example, if your spouse and yourself only have one person each in your party, do you really want to create a Head Table just for the four of you? Your answer still may be “yes” to this, and if so, great! But, it could be easier and more aesthetically pleasing to go the sweetheart table route in this situation!

Is your wedding party small, medium, or large?
Photo: Caitlin Gerres Photography
Depending on the way you answer this question, your decision might be made up for you! In our experience, a moderately sized wedding party makes for a more graceful/organized looking Head Table vs. a larger party. With a larger wedding party there are a lot of considerations you have to think of before agreeing on a Head Table. Will my venue have enough space to accommodate this? Will the group look unified at the head table or just crowded?

Can your whole wedding party be seated together without separation?
Photo: Audrey Rose Photography
This question is a bit of an extension of the previous one. When thinking about a Head Table you should consider the fact that it is singular, and is intended to be one table, not multiple! So, if your wedding party will fit comfortably without looking disjointed, we say go for it! If the table needs to be scattered or have people left off due to space limitations, it may be a better option to forgo the Head Table option and stick to a nice Sweetheart Table!

Is intimate time during dinner important to you?
Photo: Dragon Studio

If enjoying an intimate first dinner with your new spouse is high on your priority list, then having a Sweetheart Table is the best option here! Of course at your wedding there is no such thing as full privacy (everyone came to celebrate you after all!), but having a sweetheart table will remove you from your wedding guests in a small aspect.

Whichever table option you choose we know that it will be special for you and your new spouse! Your wedding day will be a whirlwind, so use these questions as a step to make at least one decision easier!

Waterford Wednesday: The Creative’s Dinner

Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!
We’re very excited about the pretty you’re going to see in this blog post today! A couple weeks ago, the Hampton Roads chapter of the Rising Tide Society hosted a beautiful, intimate, social gathering with some of their members. The event was a chance for the local creatives in the chapter to get together for a fun, styled dinner complete with great food, a photo booth, and DJ! One of the local leaders of the chapter happens to be Audrey from Audrey Rose Photography, and she captured some gorgeous shots! Check out some of our favorite shots of our linens + mahogany chiavari chairs that were used at the event! How beautiful, right?! We loved the whole concept of an actual dinner/gathering taking place, yet there was a styled shoot aspect of the event as well – so creative! Waterford’s mahogany chiavari chairs, that we house on-site at the Historic Post Office, were used as well as our linens. The varying shades of blue from our Slate Blue Polyester Napkins and Navy Blue Polyester Table Linens were a perfect compliment to the blue drink ware on the table and other blue accents throughout the space! And could you just die at the GORGEOUS backdrop that Katherine Hallberg Design created for the event? Talk about a showstopping piece! We loved the whole concept of this creative dinner and hope to be involved/see more of these types of events in the future!

Check out more photos from the event here.

Waterford Wednesday: 5 Ways to Incorporate Gold

 Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!
We’ve got a great post for you today filled with some great ideas on how to incorporate one of our favorite color schemes into your event! Using gold in your wedding design, whether it be the main color or not, is such an easy way to make your event look elegant and luxurious without breaking the bank! Check out 5 of our favorite ways to incorporate gold into your decor/design below!

Ivory/Gold Mermaid Sequins LinenPhoto: Kirstyn Marie Photography Designer: Emily Weddings
We absolutely adore this specialty linen of ours, and wouldn’t it just be the perfect way to add a touch of gold to your table?! We love how you can play around with this gorgeous linen to get just the right amount of gold that you’re looking for. This linen would definitely be the talk of your event!

Gold Beaded Glass ChargerPhoto: David Champagne Photography
Wedding decor is all about the details, and no formal, sit-down dinner is complete without a little additional decor! To add a little something extra (in gold!) our gold beaded chargers are the way to go! The glass adds a modern approach to the charger, while the gold beading provides that perfect hint of color that could take your table design to the next level!

Gold Pintuck NapkinsPhoto: Justin Hankins Photography
There’s just something so elegant about pintuck fabric, especially in napkin form. Your guests would be pleasantly surprised to see these beauties hanging or folded at their seat, trust us! They’re the perfect way to complete a table design for an unbelievably low price!

Gold  Chiavari Chairs

For a complete look at a ceremony or reception, our gold chiavari chairs are the way to go! We love how uniformed and elegant they can make rows of seating look at a ceremony, and they bring just the right pop of gold most people are looking for at a reception!

If you’ve followed Waterford for awhile, you know we love us some gold sequins linens! We love them on guest tables, sweetheart tables, cake tables, but how amazing would a sequins linen be as a gold backdrop at your event? We loved creating a sequin teepee at our VOW bridal booth this year. We’ve also seen our sequins linens used as an amazing shimmery photo booth backdrop. The ideas are endless with this beauty!

Waterford Wednesday: Lesner Inn Wedding

We’re back for another Waterford Wednesday!
Today we’ve got a seriously dreamy Lesner Inn wedding to show you! Lesner Inn is one of our favorite venues in Hampton Roads, due to all of the different areas in the venue where events can be held. There’s a beautiful upstairs area for large receptions/events, and a stunning outdoor section overlooking the water that is the perfect location for ceremonies or cocktail hours. Hannah Hildebrandt Events recently coordinated a beautiful wedding at the Lesner Inn and we rounded up some of our favorite photos that Kirstyn Marie Photography captured of our linens that were used!
Are you in neutral color palette heaven just like us? There’s just something so crisp, classy, and elegant about white/neutral colors – don’t you agree? We absolutely adored how our gold beaded glass chargers looked placed on top of our Ivory Vintage Lace Overlays! It gave off such a light and airy feel to the room. The mix of family style tables vs. round tables is always a favorite design element we like to see at events as well! Of course, we can’t forget how gorgeous our chiffon sashes look weaved through the back of these chiavari chairs. Chiavari chairs are beautiful on their own, but are really taken to the next level when paired with a chiffon sash this way!

Check out Hannah Hildebrandt Events blog post on this beautiful wedding for even more pictures!

Waterford Wednesday: Hermitage Museum Wedding

Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!
We’ve got some beautiful Hermitage Museum and Gardens wedding photos to share with you today! It’s always so special when one of our vendor friends gets married and chooses Waterford for their linen needs, and we were thrilled to be a part of Jessica Ryan Photography’s day! Check out some of our favorite shots that Erika Mills Photography captured.
Gosh, could you just swoon at all of the thoughtful details included in this whole design? The lighting, the hanging greenery, and don’t even get us started on the amazing mix of linens! It can often be intimidating to mix and match linens, but when done correctly, the results are nothing short of amazing! Not only did Jessica choose to mix linen colors, but also fabrics and textures which made for such a visually stunning overall design. This outdoor design also included one of our favorite trends: layering! We could stare at that beautiful sweetheart table all day with our champagne sequins linen on the bottom and vintage lace overlay on top! What a treat it was to be a part of your day, Jessica!

Check out Erika Mills Photography blog post here for more pictures from this gorgeous day!

Waterford Wednesday: Reception Space Hacks

Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!
We’re excited for today’s post where we’re going to share some helpful reception space hacks. We’ve been to hundreds of different venue spaces over the years and we’ve gathered some tips for fixing any reception space issue!

Crazy Carpet
David Champagne Photography
Crazy, patterned carpet is one of the top issues that most people have with their venue space. Oftentimes venues will have colorful carpet that doesn’t match your event theme and can be very distracting when combined with your decor. An easy way to keep your guests’ eyes off the carpet is by directing their gaze up! Intricate draping, interesting light arrangements, or beautiful floral are all easy ways to do this!

Old & Dated Chairs

Dressing up chairs with chair covers is a quick and easy fix for old and dated venue chairs. Adding a nice satin or organza sash will dress the chairs up even further! If you want to nix the venue provided chairs completely, renting beautiful chiavari chairs is another option if you have a little extra money in your budget!

The Space is Too Big
Audrey Rose Photography
While it’s better to have too much space than not enough, large, open ballrooms can make a venue seem cold. If you’re looking for a more intimate feel, you can divide the room with drapery, additional furniture, or low-hanging chandeliers and centerpieces!

Waterford Wednesday: A Modern Twist

Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!
We’ve got a fun little post for you all today! With blogs and Pinterest taking the wedding and event industry by storm over the past couple of years, the “traditional” wedding look has definitely evolved. Couples are focused on incorporating personal style and creative ideas into their wedding day as opposed to just sticking to traditional norms. We’ve rounded up some of our recent favorite ways to add a modern approach to your wedding!

Velvet
Design: Palette of Petals // Photographer: Caitlin Gerres Photography
We are absolutely smitten over velvet linens! The silky and smooth fabric gives off a timeless look, yet is a modern approach to wedding table designs. The versatile fabric can be dressed up or down depending on the look you’re searching for and is definitely a more modern fabric approach.

Vintage
Photography: Diana Gordon Photography
There’s nothing quiet like the wow factor a vintage piece can bring to a table design. Whether it be an extravagant love seat or small decor items, these elements provide the perfect marriage of vintage and modern.

Shapes/Patterns
Photographer: Elizabeth Friske Photography
Interesting shapes and patterns are a modern trend that we’ve seen pop up in the industry. While the traditional shades of white and ivory are still wedding staples to a certain degree, many couples are choosing to go bold with different colors and designs in their linens.

A Crystal Clear Vision Linens 2017: Part 3

It’s Part 3 of our A Crystal Clear Vision Linens 2017 posts!
This week it’s all the beautiful photos and linen details on the four tables that Caitlin Gerres Photography captured: A Lively Affair, ISO:ALT, Soirees by Lauren, and Spirit of Norfolk!

Midnight Polyester | Pottery Print Overlay
How gorgeous was A Lively Affair’s blue and white chinoiserie chic tablescape? Our Midnight Polyester linen was the perfect base for the table, and our Pottery Print Overlay had a pattern that really brought their vision to life!
Florist: Leslie Hartig Floral Design Plates: Table Seven Antiques, Glass/Flatware: Distinctive Event Rentals, Jars/Chair Shrugs: Little Stitch Studio

Silver Eyelash | White Polyester
ISO:ALT
had such a unique table that was set apart from every other design, which we loved! The geometric aspects incorporated throughout, mixed with the varying colors shining down created an interesting overall look on our Silver Eyelash and White Polyester linens!

Pink Crinkle | Banana Leaf Overlay
Soirees by Lauren had the most FUN table! The tropical and flamingo inspired table was brought to life using our Pink Crinkle linen and Banana Leaf Overlay! We love how the floral centerpiece even had a tropical vibe to it!
Florist:
Fluttering Flowers, Stationary: PaperDolls Design

Vintage Lace Overlay | Gold Aphrodite
We love a good theme, and Spirit of Norfolk blew their Beauty and the Beast table out of the water! The attention to every single detail on their table (including the infamous rose!) was incredible and really brought the vision to life. Our Vintage Lace Overlay and Gold Aphrodite linens used as a faux runner down the middle of the table was the perfect addition!

Keep checking back each Friday as we show off all of the tables and behind the scenes shots from A Crystal Clear Vision 2017!
