September Wedding Throwback

Happy Wednesday! December is here and it brought that cold weather too! This week we are blogging a beautiful outdoor wedding that we were a part of in September.

Okay, we get it….. COVID has been crazy for our couples. BUT this wedding had a pretty large guest count and was lucky enough to go off as planned with all the things! Tons of incredible vendors were brought in to make this day happen & we were happy to be a part of this team!

We were looking forward to this wedding for SUCH a nice time that it was so exciting for when the day finally arrived!! We LOVED the style and the design of this entire event from the largest details down to the tiniest- because they all matter! The ceremony was held on the private residential lawn over near the water with an incredible view & then the guests returned to the tent for all the reception festivities! The guest count was a little large so the couple decided to mix and match the tables by bringing in some King’s Tables and rounds to create some dimension throughout the space. And boy do we need to talk about these centerpieces. We are loving the monochromatic floral & tons & tons of glass design elements everywhere. We’re obsessed with the candle overload.Like come on, how stunning are these tables???? The simplicity while also layering on the fabrics is just to die for.

The napkin is one of our brand new styles- Hemstitch. And this couple was the FIRST to get their hands on it. Remember, when getting your linens through Waterford the option for custom linen rentals is ALWAYS an option.Might I add, this event was completely outdoors and while the weather was beautiful the wind was like nothing we had ever seen before. We arrived early on site to the venue and did everything we could possibly to ensure that all the linens were perfect and in good condition before we left. I mean we were literally sitting inside the cubby of the bar perfecting each and every napkin fold before placing them on the tables to make sure they didn’t blow away. Just another reason to stick with us for all your linen needs- we really go above and beyond to make sure your day is PERFECT no matter what.

I’d have to say this was one of our most anticipated events of the year and we were thrilled to be able to execute it with such a talented group of vendors.

Hannah Got Married!

Hey y’all! Happy (early) Thanksgiving! We are so excited to be spending an intimate holiday with our close friends & family tomorrow. This week we are blogging a LEGIT stunner wedding. LIKE STUNNING. Our girl Hannah tied the knot back at the end of September and she, along with us have patiently waited for these images. We knew that Hannah’s design, venue, and choice in photographer was sure to result in incredible wedding images.

Hannah got married at the beautiful Irvine Estate & House Mountain Inn located in Lexington, Virginia- just a little west of Charlottesville, VA. Her wedding took place right in the heart of fall and definitely had some bomb linens and florals to help bring her Big Day to life!

Alright- here they are, Ryan & Hannah NewellHannah went with a beautiful boho vibe as she brought out some burnt orange & rust tones to pair with her greys and tan shades. We are so excited for her that this day turned out to be everything she could have asked for- especially since she was a COVID bride too! Let’s take a look at her tables so you can see just how awesome these images really are.

I love to look at the reception space as a whole & then zoom in on the individual table details. All guest tables were set with a natural charcoal linen, and rust polyester napkin tied perfectly in a knot. For her head table Hannah went with a majestic khaki linen, a beautiful boa of greenery and some wooden chargers & burnt orange velvet napkins with a menu fold.

Can we all just take a second to admire this ahhhmazing head table? I mean the design that went into every single inch of this reception space, even we weren’t expecting! That chandelier- we’re obsessed.Even her guest tables were beautifully done & paired perfectly with the overall feel of this wedding from the napkins to the venue itself.Up close on the guest table you see just how beautiful everything is altogether. We love when our couples want to deck out the head table just a tiny bit extra than the additional guest tables. One of the best ways to do that is upgrade the napkin and throw in a charger plate- and Hannah killed it with this setting.I couldn’t finish this post without including one of Hannah’s beautiful bridal shots. This is personally one of my favs- trust me it was hard to pick! And I know what you must be thinking, yes she looks this good on a normal Tuesday.Hannah we are SO happy for you and extremely thankful to have you on our team! Hope that when you see this post you’re pleasantly surprised that this entire blog is dedicated to you (:

If your wedding is outside of the Hampton Roads area we can still take care of your rentals! We have had linens anywhere from Richmond, Charlottesville, North Carolina up through the Eastern Shore, even in New York. We got you covered!

Boho Wedding in September

Happy Waterford Wednesday! We are halfway through the week & boy is it a chilly one today! We had a really great wedding back in September that when we saw the linen selections we knew would be one that HAD to be blogged about! With a great vendor team on this wedding it’s definitely one of our favorites from this season!

Let’s just get right into this amazing sweetheart table. These florals with the linens and some romantic chiffon runners draping down to the floor really just do it for us. This table is beautiful while also super trendy and the execution couldn’t have been any better. The guest tables were kept simple and elegant with just a hint of color in the napkin. Loving the knotted napkin fold- that has just been taking over this year & really just vibes with the boho aesthetic they were going for.A little up close & personal shot of the long tables gives you a good example of how less is more. Really just keeping things simple and letting all the small details work in their own way is the way to do it sometimes! Don’t worry- we’re still a fan of over the top too!!One image we’d like to see more of is our couples’ faces as their see their reception space perfectly set up. All the time that gets put into working with every vendor to get all the things just right takes work on both ends so seeing the satisfaction from the end result is always a must have! If you walked into your reception space looking like this wouldn’t you just be STUNNED.Zooming in just one last time. I mean how cute is this table setup. We are obsessed with all of these neutral colors just coming together so effortlessly.Congrats Sam on your amazing wedding day! You were a beautiful bride and we are so happy you chose us to help share in this big day! Cheers to you and the hubby!

September Wedding at Woman’s Club of Portsmouth

This week on the blog we are recapping an awesome wedding that took place Labor Day weekend at The Woman’s Club. We love these image because they include some bomb linen picks that we haven’t seen put together yet.

Colors for this wedding were mauve/dusty rose and grey. All the guest table linens were decked out with our silver majestic linens, chiffon runners, and the amazing etched velvet mauve napkins. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and see what this trio looks like in real life!

Starting on the patio for the ceremony space, we lined the chairs of the aisle with the same chiffon dusty rose sashes as you’d see inside on top of the guest tables.Moving into the reception space you’ll find an incredible table set up with all of the elements coming together perfectly.Steamed to perfection you’ll see our majestic silver that is so beautiful with just a hint of texture as you can see the threading of the fabric just barely. The tabletops were dressed with silver beaded chargers and the brand new etched velvet mauve napkins. And to give it the perfect finishing touch is the mauve chiffon runner with cute little sprigs of greenery from one side to the other. Our design meetings are fun- getting to meet with our clients and help them bring what was once an idea to life is always rewarding. But wedding day is the BEST part. Going from our small showroom design table to the full venue, all the tables out, with all the other elements is a dream come true for us all.And would ya just check out these party favors? How cute are these customized hand sanitizers?!Looking at the cake table you’ll see the exact same linen used here as with the napkins. We didn’t think this fabric could get any more stunning until we saw it in a full tablecloth. What a perfect way to end this blog than with another amazing sweetheart table. This floral is so full & beautiful with the most amazing colors all together really giving us all the feels. I love the extra billowing of the material down at the bottom which just adds to the romantic effect.

Napkin Folds- It’s a Big Deal

One of the most fun things about meeting with so many couples prepping for their big day is being able to show them every little detail. So many times we hear from our couples “wow I didn’t even realize there were so many options.” We love to hear that and then being able to show all the things that can just take your guest tables from drab to fab is SO fun. A super small detail that most people probably don’t think about is their napkin fold. I mean having the perfect napkin is one thing, but the fold really just sets it off and perfects the place setting.

Napkin folding is actually probably one of our favorite parts of the whole setup. Today we’re going to show you just a few of our favorite napkin folds.

Band around charger

This fold is a perfect way to add a small pop of color to your reception tables & when put together with an amazing charger plate you have the best duo!Erika Mills Photography

Trifold Hanging

This fold gives your table a more simplistic look from the top but adds an elegant feel as it just delicately hangs off the table. And if you’re feeling like you want to give it a little more- throw a monogram on them!Luke & Ashley Photography

Menu Fold

Ok y’all- if you are providing a menu for your guests then this fold is a MUST. It’s so beautiful and definitely is sure to have your guests notice the detail here. This fold is pretty intricate and is sure to have your guests chatting to their neighbor about just how cute that little pocket is!

Jessica Ryan Photography | Isha Foss Design | Jessica Hanyok Calligraphy

The Knot

Saved the best for last. Well this year we have seen a huge shift in couples going for the traditional napkin fold into a more trendy style such as the knot. We love doing knotted napkin ties because it’s a cute way to incorporate your napkins but also lays so nice on top of charger plates.

Textures & Patterns- Yes They Go Together!

What’s up y’all! Happy Wednesday. Today we are talking about mixing and matching your textures and patterns- because yes they do go together!

We have some pretty photos from a styled shoot held at a new venue here in Norfolk, VA- The Neon House. If you haven’t checked it out yet then you’re really missing out! The Neon House is a super cool, modern industrial vibe right in the heart of Downtown Norfolk. The venue offers two sides available for rent, the cutest bridal suite on the second floor, and exclusive catering from our friends at Chef By Design.

These photos are from a styled shoot they had on the same weekend we had our “virtual” Summer Social Fest back in July! We paired some of our favorite and most out of the box linens together and y’all this combo just WORKS.Paired here you’ll see our matte satin taupe, etched velvet blush with a stunning french floral blush napkin. It’s so fun to see everything come together after starting off with just an idea in your head.Remember, the trick when picking out the best linens is to make it all complement each other. Not everything has to be the same, or match your bridesmaids’ dresses perfectly. Sticking within the same color palette and vibe is the best way to make your entire wedding day flow effortlessly. We just adore how these colors & patterns just bounce off one another for a perfect tablescape don’t you? If you’ve been wondering about pairing patterns- welp here is your sign to just GO FOR IT.Here is a better shot to capture the table from further out. We are just totally digging these vibes!

Stunning Fall Wedding at a Brand New Venue

Well hello there! Happy Wednesday to you! We are halfway through this week already- can you believe it? We are so excited to get some pictures back from last weekend!!!!! This wedding was near & dear to our heart because one of our Waterford girls was in this wedding! When we arrived on site to The Rocks 1620 to deliver tables & chairs on Friday we had no clue just how beautiful this venue was! If you’re looking for a stunning venue with a preferred outdoor ceremony & reception space in the Hampton Roads area then this might be the venue of your dreams.

Although we had planned to have the ceremony and reception outside, a last minute rain plan took effect & stunned us all! This venue is a huge & welcoming home that can even accommodate up to 150 guests. Renting the property for the entire weekend is available to give your bridal party & some of your guests a place to stay.

Okay- but now onto the fun stuff!! The outdoor spaces that The Rocks 1620 has are definitely ideal for ceremony and reception. There is space outside capable of holding 150 guests down a beautiful brick pathway in the backyard and then your reception space down just a few steps to a fully cemented & finished outdoor area. There is an in-ground pool surrounded by amazing waterfront views. Not only is the outdoor space amazing but there are a few covered spaces to have your event indoors as well. There is a cute little barn that has dainty hanging lights from the ceiling if you’re wanting a more rustic theme. The driveway is huge and covered with an awning that still gives you some amazing scenery and perfect for a last minute ceremony site if it’s calling for rain. And the last little hidden spot, y’all the house is big enough you can fit 100 people inside with a dance floor!!!!!! It was INSANE, but so beautiful & we couldn’t be any happier to be a part of this big day.

We’ll start with the ceremony space. White resin folding chairs on the beautifully bricked driveway with a custom made arch. And yeah….. this was the backup space.  Moving into the house you have the tables paired with gold chiavari chairs, gold acrylic chargers, and some of our favorite napkins- Natural Belize Nutmeg.Aren’t you just loving this!!! We got all this done & moved inside in a matter of 2.5 hours- all in the middle of the pouring rain but as her guests you would have never thought this to be anything other than the original plan.Even the back patio could probably serve as a backup ceremony space. This weekend we chose to use this as an overflow for guest tables & the cocktail hour space.Told you guys these views were just stunning!! Seriously, if you’re still in need of a venue, this might be calling your name. A HUGE congratulations to Megan and Josh on their incredible wedding day! Nothing was going to get in the way of celebrating you two! We hope this day was everything that you have ever imagined. We hope you both have the most amazing life together!

A Magical Woman’s Club Wedding

What’s up everyone? It’s Wednesday and we are finally kicking off the fall wedding season! In the last couple of weeks, things have finally ramped up for us & have us feeling normal again. We are so happy to be back in some of our favorite venues getting to make out couple’s wedding day dreams come true. Just a couple weeks ago we got photos back from a magical wedding we were a part of in July at one of our favorite spots- The Woman’s Club of Portsmouth!

Take a look at these incredible images to see just a glimpse of what we have to offer you!

We just can’t get enough of views like these. The tall ceilings, the chandelier, the gold chiavari chairs with a stunning arch like this one! I mean come on, does it get any better than this!?Debating on a head table? Well, you may have just gotten your answer right here. We love the sophisticated & elegant look that head tables bring and when topped with a stunning boa of greenery it doesn’t get any better than this! Wondering what else you can add to your reception space to add a more romantic feel? Sashes, and chiffon sashes woven through a chiavari chair is just everything! This may or may not be our favorite tie when it comes to giving chiavari chairs that extra oomph!Adding on a sweetheart table is a great way to make sure you and your new spouse get to spend that extra quality time together on what seems like such a fast paced night! After getting a chance to chat with all of your guests it’s such an intimate way to give you all that time just for the two of you!And who doesn’t love a BOMB cake table shot, amirite? Having a beautiful linen, or in this case, paired with a show stopping floral arch is the perfect way to elevate that cake table shot & ensure some beautiful photos when it comes time to cut the cake! We love a good cake table photo that just captures the beauty of all the things- linens, cake, floral, it’s just PERFECTION.
And when it comes to table decor, nothing is off limits. Whether you’re dramatic & show stopping with the centerpieces or simple but breathtaking, you’re sure to get some beautiful photos of what was once an idea, but now a reality!Congrats to Jeff & Paige! Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your amazing wedding day! We wish you love & happiness for the rest of time!

Why Renting Is Better!

We’re back again for Waterford Wednesday!
Fall season has officially kicked off, looks like this cooler weather might be here to stay. With fall in full effect and holiday season right around the corner, we thought today was the perfect time to discuss why renting linens is a better option compared to buying them yourself. We’re here to break down some of the top reasons for you!

Quality & Convenience
Christy Nicole Photography

In our expert opinion, quality & convenience are the most important priorities when you’re investing in linens for your big day! You don’t want to end up with linens that you bought for cheap to come in with very thin fabric and low thread count that you then have to lug around and set up yourself. This is supposed to be your special day…you don’t want to stress over placing a table linen perfectly! A rental company will ensure you have excellent quality linens at an affordable rental price as well as provide the option of delivery, setup & breakdown services.

Sizing
Katie Nesbitt Photography

One of the perks of renting linens compared to buying is the hands on assistance you will receive during the entire process. At Waterford, we hold a design meeting with each of our clients which helps in assuring you are renting the correct size linens to fit your tables. This service is basically like having your own personal Linen Coordinator! You won’t receive this type of service when renting from a random website. You will appreciate this extra help, especially if you’re having different sized tables throughout your event!

Ironing Expense
Luke & Ashley Photography

A HUGE incentive to rent linens rather than buying comes in the form of ironing. If you choose to buy, you run the high risk of your linens being delivered in very small packages which makes the process of ironing out all the wrinkles extremely tedious. At Waterford, we use a laundering facility that is equipped with extremely large industrial pressing machines so the task of ironing linens is not another worry that is added to your list!

Samples
Audrey Rose Photography
One of the biggest reasons we believe renting is more effective compared to buying is the ability to actually see the linens in person before receiving them the day of. When you go into a business to rent linens you are presented with the opportunity to personally view the items and ensure the style, texture, and colors are exactly what you want! This becomes extremely important, especially if the colors you are looking for are very specific. The risk of a potentially mismatched color scheme is not something you want to stress about on your big day!
