When it comes to planning your wedding, your choice in linens is just as important as your choice in flowers or catering.  Many brides do not realize how this choice can affect the overall atmosphere of their wedding.

The impact linens have derives partly from the amount of space they take up.  Linens will cover your tables, and possibly the chairs as well.  Ill fitting or low quality linens will attract negative attention.  Especially old, less than pretty chairs…let’s face it- there are more chairs in the room than anything else! This is why you should use your linen choice to your advantage to add style or complete the theme of your wedding.

Use your linens to express your personality, create ambience, or add an extra touch of romance.  You can use bright colors that pop for a fun feel or use lace for a more delicate touch.  The linens can really tie a wedding’s theme together. Burlap adds an extra touch to both rustic and beach themed weddings.  Navy and White Stripe look great for a nautical theme.  Choose between different colors, textures and prints to get the effect you want for you special day.

A Celebration of Life!

Waterford Event Rentals was proud to be a part of such an amazing celebration— a celebration of LIFE! Wesley, a cancer survivor, celebrated his end of chemo on April 27, 2013 at The Sports Hall of Fame in Portsmouth, VA. Cherry Blossom Weddings coordinated the event. Other amazing vendors that were present included Tara Liebeck Photography and Snapqube.

Wesley’s friends and family raised over $1500 for The Race for Hope Foundation…an organization that supports children battling cancer by spreading awareness to others. To learn more about how to donate to this group, visit www.racingforhopefoundation.org.

Why Waterford?

The inspiration for the name of our company stems from when co-owners Alyse and Hollie stepped off the bus in high school and discovered they lived on the same street- Waterford Place!

Waterford Event Rentals takes further inspiration from Waterford Crystal.  Waterford Crystal is renowned throughout the world for their beautiful, elite crystal.  Celebrated for their high quality work, Waterford Crystal will never sell a faulty piece of work; in fact, any imperfect glass is tossed back into the furnace to be melted and reused or broken to eliminate a sale.

Waterford Event Rentals strives to the same level of dedication and perfection in our work. We take several important steps to ensure we always give customers the best possible service and product:

*We steam ALL chair covers when they arrive on location- wrinkles are bound to happen in transit.
*We will NOT use stained linens. Whether the linens have been used once or ten times-we don’t care!
*We put a cap on events each weekend to ensure we have the time to focus on each one.
*We sit down with our clients and develop a design plan.  We take an active part in the planning process, increasing the quality of our service and decreasing the chance for mistakes.
*We help customers get exactly what they are looking for- no matter how difficult a color or fabric is to find.

Trends For The New Year

Trends For The New Year

With a new year, come new trends and colors.  This year, mint green will be the go to color for many brides.  Other cool colors such as pale blue sage, and sea foam green will give a similar effect.  To add a pop of color, many weddings will also see linens in bright shades of poppy red, lemon zest and nectarine.

Printed linens will also be making an appearance.  Try Damask, Stripes, or Chevron for something fun and different!  We now carry these linens!!

Waterford Event Rentals is excited to announce…We are now offering the rental of 13″ round plate chargers in SILVER and GOLD!

Don’t know what a plate charger is?? That’s okay! A plate charger is a larger decorative plate used to dress up the table. The charger is placed under the dinner plate. Take a look at the pictures below.

The rental price is $.85 a piece–yes, that’s it! This is an inexpensive way to really spice up your reception.

*We LOVE to meet our clients! In fact, we highly suggest it!  Often, colors over the Internet are distorted…especially with certain fabrics. When meeting in person the client is able to view large sample books of fabric in order to make a proper decision.

*Setting up an event involves a lot more than slipping on a chair cover! We take EXTRA time with industrial steamers to make sure linens look top notch.

*We carry organza, satin, pintuck, burlap, and damask fabric.

*We have MANY colors to choose from.

*5% off is given to all active and retired military.

*We provide wedding coordinators and venues with sample books to help the planning and decision making process run smoother.

Though it may seem a small detail, the linens you choose for your wedding make a huge difference on your big day.  Though many venues offer linens as part of their services, there are several important questions you must ask before agreeing to use their linens.

1) Are the linens included in the venue rental rate?

2) What are the size and shape of the tablecloths, and the tables?

3) What colors are available?

4) Are napkins included? If so, what size and colors?

5) What type of chairs and chair covers are offered?

After asking these questions, you should also ask to see the linens.  Some beautiful venues offer only simple cotton table squares, which will be of nice quality but unequal to elegance of the room.
