Fall season has officially kicked off, looks like this cooler weather might be here to stay. With fall in full effect and holiday season right around the corner, we thought today was the perfect time to discuss why renting linens is a better option compared to buying them yourself. We’re here to break down some of the top reasons for you!

In our expert opinion, quality & convenience are the most important priorities when you’re investing in linens for your big day! You don’t want to end up with linens that you bought for cheap to come in with very thin fabric and low thread count that you then have to lug around and set up yourself. This is supposed to be your special day…you don’t want to stress over placing a table linen perfectly! A rental company will ensure you have excellent quality linens at an affordable rental price as well as provide the option of delivery, setup & breakdown services.

One of the perks of renting linens compared to buying is the hands on assistance you will receive during the entire process. At Waterford, we hold a design meeting with each of our clients which helps in assuring you are renting the correct size linens to fit your tables. This service is basically like having your own personal Linen Coordinator! You won’t receive this type of service when renting from a random website. You will appreciate this extra help, especially if you’re having different sized tables throughout your event!

Ironing Expense

A HUGE incentive to rent linens rather than buying comes in the form of ironing. If you choose to buy, you run the high risk of your linens being delivered in very small packages which makes the process of ironing out all the wrinkles extremely tedious. At Waterford, we use a laundering facility that is equipped with extremely large industrial pressing machines so the task of ironing linens is not another worry that is added to your list!

One of the biggest reasons we believe renting is more effective compared to buying is the ability to actually see the linens in person before receiving them the day of. When you go into a business to rent linens you are presented with the opportunity to personally view the items and ensure the style, texture, and colors are exactly what you want! This becomes extremely important, especially if the colors you are looking for are very specific. The risk of a potentially mismatched color scheme is not something you want to stress about on your big day!

Why Waterford?

The inspiration for the name of our company stems from when co-owners Alyse and Hollie stepped off the bus in high school and discovered they lived on the same street- Waterford Place!

Waterford Event Rentals takes further inspiration from Waterford Crystal.  Waterford Crystal is renowned throughout the world for their beautiful, elite crystal.  Celebrated for their high quality work, Waterford Crystal will never sell a faulty piece of work; in fact, any imperfect glass is tossed back into the furnace to be melted and reused or broken to eliminate a sale.

Waterford Event Rentals strives to the same level of dedication and perfection in our work. At the start of our company, we kept it simple with chair covers and sashes. As we did more and more events, the requests began to grow! Now, almost 10 years later, we pride ourselves in our inventory that is constantly evolving. We’d like to say that we stay on top of what’s trending & get you the hottest items before they’re even thought of on the East Coast. We love being able to stick to what we know (linens) & perfecting it. Our inventory now includes: full length tablecloths, napkins, runners, overlays, chargers, tables, and chairs in a handful of different colors and styles.

We take several important steps to ensure we always give customers the best possible service and product:

  • We steam ALL chair covers & linens when they arrive on location- wrinkles are bound to happen in transit.
  • We will NOT use stained linens. Whether the linens have been used once or ten times-we don’t care! You are the most important piece to our business and we ensure all linens are in top condition before getting sent out.
  • We put a cap on events each weekend to ensure we have the time to focus on each one.
  • We sit down with our clients and develop a design plan.  We take an active part in the planning process, increasing the quality of our service and decreasing the chance for mistakes.
  • We include you in all decisions from napkin fold, to linen selection, even down to the sash tie!
  • We help customers get exactly what they are looking for- no matter how difficult a color or fabric is to find.
  • We provide 3 different options in which to receive your linens: pick-up from our office, delivery to your venue, or set-up on site the day of where our staff takes care of it all. Yup! That means your family and friends get to relax and enjoy the day WITH you.

Fun Colors to Bring Your Reception to Life

Our favorite thing about being a part of so many amazing setups and weddings is seeing just how different and unique each and every bride is. In our area, there are so many venues that every bride gets to transform by bringing out their own personality in their reception. This year we had a beautiful wedding at the Historic Post Office.

Leah brought her reception to life with the use of a deep teal color accompanied by some fun pinks and oranges.A white full length linen was used and paired the teal napkins along with a blush chiffon runner. The teal stands out so well when paired with these romantic colors.The guest tables all had the same beautiful flowers but differed with a smaller romantic centerpiece, or a tall abstract bouquet.We just love the look of these linens with our mahogany chairs. The dark color of the chairs adds such a beautiful contrast.How stunning is this sweetheart table. This might be one of our favorites this year! The colors look like they were meant for each other and add such a lovely touch to this table. Who doesn’t love a good sequin linen and with flowers like this…. YES PLEASE.The cake table also took the main color of the reception with the same teal polyester linen. The wedding cake is beautiful and simple but the few floral additions takes it over the top.Rob & Leah, your wedding was absolutely stunning. We are so grateful you chose us for your linen needs on your big day! Enjoy your first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs.

Sprucing Up Your Guest Tables Using Farm Tables

In case you haven’t already heard- we have farm tables!!!!!! These new, beautiful farm tables can really be the focal point when it comes to designing your reception area. The tables are new to us this year and we get so excited every time we get to take these out for an event. The farm tables can be used for your king’s table, sweetheart table, cake table, or whatever you can think of!

In July, we hosted our very first Summer Social bridal event! And what better way to decorate our table than with one of our beautiful farm tables and gold chiavari chairs. This farm table was accessorized using our coral chiffon runners and succulents for center pieces. The theme of this year’s Summer Social was sunset ombre so we wanted to make sure we incorporated all of those fun colors in our table and we did that through the napkins.

We had so much fun designing this table and being able to use napkins in lots of different fabrics and folding styles gives you an idea of the endless possibilities when designing your guest tables! The farm tables are a beautiful addition to your reception and are sure to be a conversation starter!

We just loveeee the way our farm tables look after all the things have been added. This look is from our 2019 Crystal Clear Vision table at the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth. The farm table is simple and elegant with the white chiffon runners and beautiful gold beaded glass chargers. We love the sleek and romantic look of this guest table with a small pop of color in the menu card and napkin.

Zooming out from the place setting allows you to see how the farm table looks in all its glory! The centerpieces used were small and simple allowing the farm table to be the center of attention. We love this farm table paired with our white chiavari chairs and the champagne chiffon sashes complement the chiffon runners perfectly. If you are interested in the farm tables being the stand out piece of your reception area, it doesn’t take much to give them a beautiful, polished look that your guests will never forget. This design goes hand and hand with the simple & natural look of the farm tables and the earthy colors of the plants and place settings is one to die for!

We are OBSESSED with the way Touche’ Event Design & Production transformed our farm tables at Raven and Dane’s wedding this summer! If you plan on having a king’s table at your wedding, the farm table is the perfect way to make sure your bridal party stands out. The design on the farm table is super simple and every aspect of color used on this table matches each other perfectly. We love the romantic look the organza runner gives us paired with the incredible white flowers used in the center pieces.

It’s Waterford Wednesday!
Last week, we showed you “1 Linen, 3 Ways“! This week, we’re going to show you “1 Product, 3 ways” with our chiavari chairs! To say we are OBSESSED with these chairs is a complete understatement, and today we’re excited to show you a few different ways that they can be utilized at your event!

One of the most popular ways to utilize chiavari chairs is for ceremony seating! Oftentimes, brides are so concerned about their reception area that they forget all about the importance of ceremony seating. Chiavari chairs are an easy way to ensure that your ceremony setup will be uniformed AND beautiful. Plus, the ceremony is a portion of your wedding where a lot of your photos will be taken, so you want nice looking chairs that will give off a polished look in photos!

Chivari chairs are beautiful standing alone, but adding weaved chiffon sashes creates such an elegant and romantic look! The sheer, lightweight fabric of chiffon hangs perfectly on chivari chairs while the weaving pattern creates a unique and different style! We love how the weaved chiffon in this photo by Erika Mills was used to differentiate the bride and grooms chairs from the rest!
