Top 3 Must Haves at Your Wedding Reception

Happy Wednesday! For this week’s #WaterfordWednesday we wanted to talk about what we believe to be the top 3 must haves at your wedding reception! While we are an event rental company, our suggestions revolve strictly around rentals. Of course a DJ & good food are a must for the PARRRR-TAYYY. However, in the event rental world, there are just some things that may not come to mind unless you knew to think about them otherwise. But that’s why we’re here to help!! Now onto the top 3 must haves!

1

Stylish Chair Option

Okay, we admit our company mayyyy have started out prominently with a crazy good chair cover and sash game but nowadays it’s all about the chair. When meeting with your venue really inquire on the tables & chairs they provide so that you can ensure the chairs they offer complement your design aspects.

The style of chair that you rent really can be the final piece of the puzzle that ties in the full design element of your reception. Here’s two of our favorite options & just goes to show how truly different chairs can make your wedding day look! Sarah Street Photography

2

Beautiful Linen Option (that touches the floor)

Just like with the chairs, it’s possible that your venue has in stock linens as well. But stop right there!!!!! If you don’t remember anything else from this blog, remember this…. You must verify that the linens you’re being offered are a good quality and touch the floor. You would be surprised the amount of times we hear that clients are being offered linens from venues or that the caterers provide them- which CAN be great but can also be a huge misunderstanding if you don’t ask the right questions. You want to make sure that these tablecloths are full length, to the floor, Without verifying that you run the risk of your “tablecloths” really being an overlay that will show the legs of the table & trust us no one wants that. Use these photos for a reference on what you DO want your tables to look like.Amanda Hedgepeth Photography

3

Elegant Charger Option

Our final tip for your top 3 must haves would have to be a charger. Chargers are so fun because not only do they come in tons of styles but you can also mix and match them among your tables or maybe give your head table a little something the rest of the guest tables don’t. We love adding a charger, it provides a beautiful place on the table that the guests can arrive to when compared to a table with nothing set.  Below you’ll see some charger options. This is the most fab way to dress up the tables & give it that last little bit of -umph!Alexandria PhotographyEchard Wheeler Photography

Top 4 Napkin Folds of 2020

Hello again, signing on for our last blog of 2020! We are ending the year talking about the top 4 napkin folds we saw in 2020. When it comes to planning a wedding, everyone wants their design to be different than the last! We are so on the same page with that too! Choosing linens and designs that are out of the box make for perfect wedding pictures & you never know, maybe someone else’s future inspiration photo! Let’s just jump right in, shall we?

#4 Band around charger

This is a napkin fold we’ve seen for years but still reigns supreme when it comes to giving you a great place setting for your guests. The napkin is delicately folded to wrap around your charger plate. Whether it’s just the charger or you’re adding a salad plate on top this fold is a go to for sure.

#3 Trifold

Another OG in the napkin fold game is the simple but beautiful trifold. This napkin fold is great and adds a little bit of color and contrast on those tabletops. Whether you let the trifold hang off the side, or its folded on top of the table (or charger) it’s sure to draw attention and be noticed.Photography: Jessica Ryan Photography | Table Design: Fluttering FlowersPhotography: Audrey Rose Photography

#2 Menu Fold

Coming in for a veryyy close second place, we have the beautiful menu fold. A great way to give that extra attention to your stationary is by accenting with a menu fold. This fold creates a cute little pocket that allows the menu card to slide right in. There’s a few ways this fold can be achieved, take a peek below!Photography: Jessica Ryan PhotographyPhotography: Tylar Brooke Photography

#1 The Knot

If you have stayed up to date with our blogs this year, then you already knew that the knot is our #1 napkin fold of the year. It’s super cute & trendy- a lot of times that’s what couples are looking for. The knot is also versatile and can be tied perfectly in the middle or a little higher at the top. Cavalier Wedding Feature

Hey there everyone! Hope you are just as happy as we are that we made it halfway through the week!! Today for our blog we are showing you ALL the angles from a BOMB wedding that was at The Cavalier Hotel not too long ago.

I feel like we say this every time we do a wedding throwback, but for real this one is INCREDIBLE. From the views, to the linen choices, the tiniest of details, and the vendor list- y’all they went all out here!

Right at the end of October, which is normally our CRAZIEST month we finished things off right with Sara & Taylor’s wedding. Sara made some BOLD moves with her linen selections & boy did this come out magical!

Let’s start by checking out the ceremony space. She has her gold chiavari chairs perfectly lined for the ceremony and added some dainty floral decor to the first couple rows of chairs. We always love a good chair accessory! Now, let’s get a view of the reception space. Also outside on the lawn covered with a tent is her jaw dropping reception space with details to die for. Sara made big moves with her fabric choice and the decision to mix and match these colors and IT. JUST. WORKS. The two linens paired together is serving all the looks. From this photo you really get a good peek into the space as a whole, the drapery, the chandeliers, the floral- this is truly incredible.Let’s take a closer look at these tables. Below you’ll see our warm and cozy velvet linen in navy. I know what you’re thinking…. Wow they must really love velvet because that is just the talk of the town. While you are correct….. It’s not just us that’s obsessed with the AHHHHHMAZING velvet options we have to offer. Our couples dig it just as much as we do.The other linen that we paired with the velvet is one that is also SO pretty and has so much potential. This one gets overlooked quite a bit but is a beauty in itself. This one is called Extreme Crush and featured below in the color mint. This linen is perfect for the person looking for a little more than the average but still doesn’t get too crazy. We love adding in a bit of texture while still keeping the linen the same color.PS- Did you spot the little hand sanitizer in this photo? Thanks COVID for giving our couples the perfect wedding favor.

The tables couldn’t look any better if we TRIED. I mean the simplicity of the centerpieces allows them to be beautiful on their own but the best complement to the linens. And we can’t end this blog without showing you the view from the sweetheart table. Wouldn’t you just die arriving to your table seeing a view like this one? And the extra bit of florals and details that are in this incredible arrangement really just sets it off!Congratulations on your wedding Sara & Taylor! We are so thankful you let us be a part of this big day in the midst of such a crazy time for us all. Getting photos back like this really just makes it all worth it. Enjoy the married life!

Stunning Fall Wedding at a Brand New Venue

Well hello there! Happy Wednesday to you! We are halfway through this week already- can you believe it? We are so excited to get some pictures back from last weekend!!!!! This wedding was near & dear to our heart because one of our Waterford girls was in this wedding! When we arrived on site to The Rocks 1620 to deliver tables & chairs on Friday we had no clue just how beautiful this venue was! If you’re looking for a stunning venue with a preferred outdoor ceremony & reception space in the Hampton Roads area then this might be the venue of your dreams.

Although we had planned to have the ceremony and reception outside, a last minute rain plan took effect & stunned us all! This venue is a huge & welcoming home that can even accommodate up to 150 guests. Renting the property for the entire weekend is available to give your bridal party & some of your guests a place to stay.

Okay- but now onto the fun stuff!! The outdoor spaces that The Rocks 1620 has are definitely ideal for ceremony and reception. There is space outside capable of holding 150 guests down a beautiful brick pathway in the backyard and then your reception space down just a few steps to a fully cemented & finished outdoor area. There is an in-ground pool surrounded by amazing waterfront views. Not only is the outdoor space amazing but there are a few covered spaces to have your event indoors as well. There is a cute little barn that has dainty hanging lights from the ceiling if you’re wanting a more rustic theme. The driveway is huge and covered with an awning that still gives you some amazing scenery and perfect for a last minute ceremony site if it’s calling for rain. And the last little hidden spot, y’all the house is big enough you can fit 100 people inside with a dance floor!!!!!! It was INSANE, but so beautiful & we couldn’t be any happier to be a part of this big day.

We’ll start with the ceremony space. White resin folding chairs on the beautifully bricked driveway with a custom made arch. And yeah….. this was the backup space.  Moving into the house you have the tables paired with gold chiavari chairs, gold acrylic chargers, and some of our favorite napkins- Natural Belize Nutmeg.Aren’t you just loving this!!! We got all this done & moved inside in a matter of 2.5 hours- all in the middle of the pouring rain but as her guests you would have never thought this to be anything other than the original plan.Even the back patio could probably serve as a backup ceremony space. This weekend we chose to use this as an overflow for guest tables & the cocktail hour space.Told you guys these views were just stunning!! Seriously, if you’re still in need of a venue, this might be calling your name. A HUGE congratulations to Megan and Josh on their incredible wedding day! Nothing was going to get in the way of celebrating you two! We hope this day was everything that you have ever imagined. We hope you both have the most amazing life together!
