Waterford Wednesday: Head Table vs. Sweetheart Table

Happy Waterford Wednesday!
When planning a wedding reception, one aspect that brides/grooms need to decide on is – head table vs. sweetheart table. While this may seem like a trivial decision to some, there is often a lot of back and forth on which one to choose, so today we’re here to help you out! We’ve come up with a list of questions to ask yourself that will hopefully steer you toward the right decision for you/your event!

Is intimate time during dinner important to you?

If enjoying an intimate first dinner with your new spouse is high on your priority list, then having a Sweetheart Table is the best option here! Of course at your wedding there is no such thing as full privacy (everyone came to celebrate you after all!), but having a sweetheart table will remove you from your wedding guests in a small aspect.

Is your wedding party small, medium, or large?

Depending on the way you answer this question, your decision might be made up for you! In our experience, a moderately sized wedding party makes for a more graceful/organized looking Head Table vs. a larger party. With a larger wedding party there are a lot of considerations you have to think of before agreeing on a Head Table. Will my venue have enough space to accommodate this? Will the group look unified at the head table or just crowded?

Can your whole wedding party be seated together without separation?

This question is a bit of an extension of the previous one. When thinking about a Head Table you should consider the fact that it is singular, and is intended to be one table, not multiple! So, if your wedding party will fit comfortably without looking disjointed, we say go for it! If the table needs to be scattered or have people left off due to space limitations, it may be a better option to forgo the Head Table option and stick to a nice Sweetheart Table!

Do you want to be the focal point?

I mean it is your day after all so it definitely can be ALL about you! If you want all eyes on you a Sweetheart Table is a necessity when it comes to your reception layout. I mean where else would you eyes be with the newlyweds under this GORGEOUS arch? A sweetheart table is also great if you want to incorporate some high-end linens without having to spend a fortune since it will just be on your table and not all of the guest tables!

Whichever table option you choose we know that it will be special for you and your new spouse! Your wedding day will be a whirlwind, so use these questions as a step to make at least one decision easier!

Waterford Wednesday: Special Sweetheart Tables

Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!

Today we’ve got a fun little post all about sweetheart tables and some cute and creative ways you can make these special tables shine a little more! Sweetheart tables are extra special because it is all about the newly weds! Here are three sweetheart table ideas that we love:

Love Seat

A great way to add a little extra touch to your sweetheart table is to seat you and your loved one on a comfy sofa or love seat together! Not only does this incorporate a vintage feel, but it also has the potential to add in a nice bold pop of color depending on the chair you go with! We loved how Antonia Christianson Events added this red chair into their design at A Crystal Clear Vision, it definitely made the whole design more romantic we think!

Florals

Floral arrangements are always such a statement piece when it comes to sweetheart tables, and we absolutely adore the floral runner trend that’s been happening lately! Using a floral runner creates a unique and visually appealing element to your sweetheart table that will definitely set it apart from your guest tables!

Signage

Table signage is a cute and easy way to show off your sweetheart table seats! Something as simple as “Bride” and “Groom” signs are great starter ideas for you to get creative, but there are endless options when it comes to ideas! We love “The Sail” and “The Anchor” signs that were used at an Outer Banks wedding a couple of years ago! It really spoke to the bride and grooms style and worked well into the overall theme of the event!

Waterford Wednesday: Sweetheart Table

It’s Waterford Wednesday!
If you follow along with us on Facebook, you know that things have been crazy (in a good way!) around here. Wedding season is in full swing and between set ups & breakdowns, the ILEA Gala, client meetings, and taking inventory of all of our linens & products (and there’s A LOT!) we have been busy little bees at Waterford! With all of our inventory work going on, it’s got us knee deep in specialty linens, and specialty linens ALWAYS remind us of one thing in particular…sweetheart tables! Sweetheart tables are one of our absolute favorite parts of a wedding reception, so today we’re sharing some of our favorite advantages to having a sweetheart table at your event!

All About You

Having a sweetheart table, as opposed to a head table (still a great option!), will ensure that you will be the focal point at your reception! Your guests will be able to focus on you and in return you will be able to see all of your guests and take in your reception as a whole…after all, you’ve spent months and months planning this!

A sweetheart table makes it much easier for your guests to come chat with you and your new spouse! You won’t be surrounded by your family or bridal party, which will allow those that want to congratulate you or share special moment with you the opportunity!

If you love specialty linens, but don’t want to go all out on each of the guest tables, the sweetheart table provides you the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity! This table is separate from the guest tables and is meant to be a focal point of the reception, so spice it up with a fun linen, centerpiece and chair signs! After all, this table deserves an extra special touch!

We don’t think so! Sweetheart tables are one of our absolute favorite parts of a wedding reception. The sweetheart table is where the bride and groom will share their first meal as a married couple and we think that calls for a fabulous table setting! In honor of our July linen special, here are some of our favorite advantages to having a sweetheart table at your reception!

Waterford Wednesday: Sweetheart Tables

It’s Waterford Wednesday!
Today we’re feeling sweet. . .sweetheart tables that is! Sweetheart tables are one of our absolute favorite tables to dress up at weddings. After all, the two most important people at the wedding are seated there!View More: http://kirstynmarie.pass.us/grandeweddingunnamed© http://willkingphotography.comPicMonkey CollageThe sweetheart table at a wedding is such a special place setting! Often times, the table will feature linens that set it apart from the rest of the tables at the reception. One of our very favorite ways to display a sweetheart table is with our specialty linens! Adding a gorgeous Satin Rosette on Mesh linen or one of our Sequence Table Linens is an excellent way to make your sweetheart table the star of the reception! If you’re going for a simpler approach in regards to linens, simply dressing the sweetheart table in an opposite color from the guest tables is a fun and cute way to keep the focus on you without having an extravagant specialty linen!  Adding extra accessories to the sweetheart table or the backs of the chairs is a great way to round out the whole table beautifully! We’ve seen so many different sweetheart tables at our various events and each one is always so different and fully thought out, which is definitely a reason these table have become one of our favorites!

Until next week!
