Recap of The Summer Social Fest 2020

Hello everyone & happy Wednesday!! We are especially excited for this blog because we are recapping all of our amazing fun from The Summer Social Fest which was held virtually last weekend. As we are all aware, COVID-19 has thrown a wrench into A LOT of plans. Weddings, graduations, birthdays, vacations, and even just a regular work schedule. COVID is unique in the sense we have all been affected by it some way.

For us, and tons of other vendors and of course SO. MANY. COUPLES any and all events and gatherings have come to a screeching halt. What a whirlwind and adjustment it’s been to say the least. As COVID became more and more dangerous we were left with no choice but to reconfigure our summer bridal show. The result= Summer Social Fest held on Facebook Live! With the help of our partner Missy with Antonia Christianson Events, Mike Dragon with Dragon Photo Studio, Misty with Misty Saves The Day, Ashley of Studio I Do, and the crew at Stage Right Lighting, we brought this idea to life!

After months of replanning our super fun social meet and greet to be exclusively online the weekend finally came to fruition July 17-19. We had about 30 vendors sign up to meet about 100 couples all virtually!!!! We are so thankful and thrilled to have each and every vendor participate and help bring this idea full circle. The best part, is that we were able to help our vendors AND future couples all for free!!!!! This was our way of really letting couples know how much we feel for you during this time and want to support you and give you something to look forward to because we all care that much.

With all of that being said, we want to shout out and thank each vendor that chose to be a part of this magical weekend, but also show you a glimpse of the INSANE fashion show we put on. I mean, we don’t like to toot our own horn but we really pulled it off with this entire weekend and feel incredibly blessed we made this happen!

The Summer Social Fest 2020

Hey there! Happy JULY 1st!!!!! How crazy is it that we are already halfway through 2020??? This month is also a very special time in that we are hosting our first ever VIRTUAL bridal show with our main chick, Missy with Antonia Christianson Events. This is our second year hosting our super fun, laid back, Summer Social bridal event only with a twist! Instead of having our guests and vendors meet one another at The Woman’s Club of Portsmouth, we are going LIVE on Facebook.

We do love events, but we love our couples and vendor friends even more and we just didn’t think it was safe to risk having this event in person. But don’t be fooled, we have A LOT in store for our guests! Take a peek below to learn all about what’s going down the weekend of July 17-19 streamed exclusively through Facebook Live.

What bridal show could be complete without prizes? Yupp! None of them!! Of course we have rallied our closest vendor friends to bring you couples some prizes and much more! Note- you must be REGISTERED for the event in order to win. You can find the link on our Facebook page, Antonia Christianson Events Facebook, The Summer Social Facebook, AND our website. Not only do we have prizes but we have a FULL BLOWN FASHION SHOW. You will see none other than the hottest new trends from the ladies at Studio I Do Bridals. Another great bit is that we have some local venues giving some virtual tours for those struggling to find the perfect place to say I do!But how do you know who is going to a part of such a cool event? We gotcha covered there too! Below is the list of over 25 vendors ready and prepared to sign on and meet you VIRTUALLY. They will be telling you all about their business and the services they offer & will leave time to answer your questions at the end! Make sure to have some questions written down so you don’t forget.Let’s talk prizes! First we just have to take a second to thank our incredible vendors for being SO generous to donate to some lucky couples while COVID has really hit our industry hard. Waterford Wednesday – The Historic Post Office

Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!

Today let’s take a look at one of Hampton Roads most charming venues, The Historic Post Office! We are always so excited to have our linens and mahogany chairs on display here! Let’s take a look at how an ordinary post office became the timeless beauty it is today!

The Historic Post Office was completed in 1914 and became a wedding and event venue in January 2017. If you are looking for that “blank slate” venue to turn your wedding into the one you’ve always imagined, The Historic Post Office is the place to go!

This inclusive venue holds up to 250 guests sitting and 400 guests standing! With their large list of preferred vendors, you can’t go wrong when choosing The Historic Post Office!

While there is an air of historic charm all around you, The Historic Post Office offers plenty of modern amenities! The venue is complete with a Bridal Suite, a Gentlemen’s Lounge, and a catering kitchen! They have thought of everything to make your event flow with ease!

Waterford Wednesday: Special Sweetheart Tables

Happy Waterford Wednesday, friends!

Today we’ve got a fun little post all about sweetheart tables and some cute and creative ways you can make these special tables shine a little more! Sweetheart tables are extra special because it is all about the newly weds! Here are three sweetheart table ideas that we love:

A great way to add a little extra touch to your sweetheart table is to seat you and your loved one on a comfy sofa or love seat together! Not only does this incorporate a vintage feel, but it also has the potential to add in a nice bold pop of color depending on the chair you go with! We loved how Antonia Christianson Events added this red chair into their design at A Crystal Clear Vision, it definitely made the whole design more romantic we think!

Floral arrangements are always such a statement piece when it comes to sweetheart tables, and we absolutely adore the floral runner trend that’s been happening lately! Using a floral runner creates a unique and visually appealing element to your sweetheart table that will definitely set it apart from your guest tables!

Table signage is a cute and easy way to show off your sweetheart table seats! Something as simple as “Bride” and “Groom” signs are great starter ideas for you to get creative, but there are endless options when it comes to ideas! We love “The Sail” and “The Anchor” signs that were used at an Outer Banks wedding a couple of years ago! It really spoke to the bride and grooms style and worked well into the overall theme of the event!

Waterford Wednesday – Simple Yet Significant

It’s another Waterford Wednesday!

With wedding season in full swing we have had lots of setups each weekend and we couldn’t help but notice how events really are all about the details! Taking the time to really pay attention to the little things really helps to create an extra memorable experience and ensure a cohesive look. One of our favorite, and easiest ways, is with napkins! Napkins are a really nice way to finish off any place setting by keeping things classy with a hint of fun! Whether adding a pop of color or a little texture with a spunky design, napkins are another great example of how the small things are still significant. We’ve gathered a couple of pictures for your daily napkin inspiration!
