Our Favorite New Trend: Velvet!

Woo hoo!!!!! It’s finally Wednesday which means another blog coming at ya! Today, we wanted to talk about one of our FAVORITE trends that is surely to pick up around the fall. VELVET. If you’re into subtle texture then you might definitely want to consider adding some velvet to your reception space someway somehow. Personally, we try to show EVERYONE something velvet when they come in our showroom just because we love it so much. Not only is there an option for just standard velvet, but you can get an etched velvet pattern or even a crushed velvet look. Either way, we think velvet speaks for itself. Take a peek and see if you agree.

Let’s start off with this INCREDIBLE floral velvet linen that was used by Chef by Design at our 2020 Crystal Clear Vision Bridal Expo! The elegance of this linen is second to none. This provides an incredible way to tie in your wedding colors and give all the romantic vibes. This photo doesn’t even begin to describe the beauty of this linen. No doubt this one will stop you in your tracks.Table Design: Chef by Design | Photographer: Caitlin Gerres Photography

Another linen that was used for this first time at our bridal show was a beautiful ocean velvet. A mix between blue and green, and paired with these colored glasses makes us feel like we’re sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in. Don’t forget blue is the Pantone Color of the Year so be quick to add this to your reception space somewhere before the year is up!Table Design: Rusty Cottage | Photographer: Kirstyn Marie Photography

Another great velvet option is for those brides looking for an earthy, boho vibe. This napkins are BRAND. SPANKIN. NEW. We are so thrilled to have these as part of our inventory and expect to get a lot of use out of them this fall.Table Design: Indie & Ivory | Photographer: Caitlin Gerres Photography

Our next feature is a stunning neutral tone which we refer to as cashmere. Along with the velvet trend, going ALL NEUTRAL is a big hit! What better way to get the best of both worlds than with a linen like this. We just love how these colors bounce off one another for the perfect warm & cozy guest table.Table Design: Sunkissed Events | Photographer: Jessica Ryan Photography

Last but not least is our romantic & elegant rose quartz velvet. This linen is unique in that it can take on a mix of dusty rose/mauve and wisteria. It’s all about what you pair it with! Here it’s seen with our french floral blush napkin and white lace runner.Table Design: The Twisted Fork | Photographer: Katie Nesbitt Photography

I’m sure by now you have joined the velvet train! We just love all the possibilities that come with velvet. Don’t gorget these are available in napkins and runners as well.

Why Linens?

We thought today may be the perfect day to talk about why it’s important to include linens in your must haves when it comes to your wedding reception needs.

When it comes to planning your wedding, your choice in linens is just as important as your choice in flowers or catering.  Many brides do not realize how this choice can affect the overall atmosphere of their wedding, until it’s too late.

The impact linens can have on your reception space is due to the fact of how much room they take up and also that every table has one.  Linens will not only cover your table, but touch all the way to the floor and rid you of those ugly table legs.  Ill fitting or low quality linens will attract negative attention, which no one wants on their big day. This is why you should use your linen choice to your advantage to add style or complete the theme of your wedding.Photography: Dragon Photo Studio

Use your linens to express your personality, create ambience, or add an extra touch of romance.  You can use bright colors that pop for a fun feel or use lace for a more delicate, romantic touch.  The linens can really tie a wedding’s theme together. Burlap adds an extra touch to both rustic and beach themed weddings.  Navy and White Stripe look great for a nautical theme. While velvet adds a very elegant, classy touch.

Choose between different colors, textures and prints to get the effect you want for your special day. The possibilities are endless!! Just to name a few we have linens in all fabrics ranging from polyester to satin and rosette to sequins. We are sure to have what it is you’re looking for to accomplish your dream wedding.Photography: Meghan Lupyan Photography | Floral: Mann and Wife | Planner: Soirees by Lauren | Venue: Woman’s Club of Portsmouth

Incorporating Disney Into Your Reception

Who doesn’t love Disney movies?

We sure do! Exactly a week ago we found out that Disney World is ready to reopen its doors July 11th! Once we heard this news we were ready to dedicate an entire blog to all the go hard Disney lovers out there. We have had a handful of brides come to us in the past with their love for Disney that just had to be incorporated to their wedding day.

Some brides took you on a little trip and had each guest table as a different theme park within Walt Disney World in Florida.

Other brides kept it super subtle and stayed with a more classic Disney theme and incorporated cute Mickey Mouse ears here and there.

Whatever your vision may be- this Disney blog is the one for you! We are going to share some of our personal favorite Disney Princesses and how you can bring this to life for the reception of your dreams. I mean it’s Disney- we have to go all out for this right?Such a super pretty way to include the glitz and glam of Cinderella into your reception space using a slate blue velvet paired with champagne sequins.Another princess to think about including is Ariel. Red sequins to display her gorgeous red hair- quite the focal point throughout the movie. And then what better way to portray her tail and the sea than with our iridescent crush olive green linen. We love the different ripples and shades that comes with this linen and totally gives off under the sea vibes.Of course we had to include one of the newest to join the Princess gang! Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Bring your reception tables to life with a mix of our matte satin ice blue and velvet leaf linens sure to rock the party!Once we decided on this blog, I knew for sure Tangled would have to be a part of it. I mean just look at this iridescent linen- this screams Rapunzel!!!!! This might just be my favorite linen pairings. Adding the romantic look of those long luscious locks with the champagne pintuck linen. Using the iridescent crush linens with the pintuck as sash ties would make for an AMAZING duo.Last but not least- probably one of the top 5 Disney love stories EVER. Beauty and the Beast. We have a bride going with this look in the fall and is adding all the navy and gold you can imagine. We can’t wait to see this unfold in person. But for now we’ll be dreaming of some champagne pinchwheel, the most accurate depiction of Belle’s gorgeous gold gown.

We hope you’ve enjoyed taking a walk into Disney with us. This one was super fun! Can’t wait to see how creative our brides get with this.

Combining Textures Flawlessly

In the fall, we were a part of a huge wedding: 300 people to be exact at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club. The linens picked out for this wedding were to die for and we are sooooo excited to share this with you! Morgan chose to keep her guest tables neutral with ivory polyester linens and matte satin champagne blush napkins, but decked out her head table with the same matte satin champagne blush linens and rose quartz velvet napkins. This photo shows an epic shot of the guest tables with the head table located in the center with a stunning hanging floral centerpiece. The guest tables were kept neutral with subtle pops of wedding color in the floral. The head table was differentiated by incorporating long tables but also with a completely different fabric choice. The linens used were matte satin champagne blush and accented with the rose quartz velvet napkins. Both these colors proved to be perfect complements to the floral used in the entire reception space. These colors were romantic and beautiful for this fall wedding. We love making wedding dreams come true!

Any beach lovers out there?  Us gals at Waterford Event Rentals sure are and absolutely cannot get enough of the ocean’s beauty!  Spring and summer are obviously the more popular seasons to host your event near the water; however, what about those of you out there who want to host a late fall or mid-winter event but yet still want to be close to the water?  Well, this blog is specifically designed for you!

Yes, we know that some of you out there are already planning your winter 2019-2020 events and need a little inspiration.  Don’t fret, because we’re here to make sure you stay “in-the-know” about what trends can be beautifully designed in the cold, bleak temps and still give off that subtle inviting nautical look.

Featured this week on Waterford Wednesday is our January’s stylized shoot at the breathtaking Lesner Inn in Virginia Beach, VA.  See what you think by checking out some of our favs below:

Velvet, the trendsetter for 2019, is an absolute MUST in creating your tablescape.  Pairing the gold tableware with Mauve Velvet Napkins and Navy Polyester Table Linens truly promotes a more welcoming environment to the guests!  Additionally, the warmth evoked from this specific mauve linen proves that this an excellent choice for events in the winter months.

The Eggplant Polyester Napkins truly add a unique touch against the Navy Table Linen and tableware.  Complimentary to the floral design highlighted throughout the shoot, these Eggplant Napkins provide depth and dimension, shying away from the typical nautical flair and going bold!

Waterford Wednesday: Spring 2019 Trends

Happy March, our Waterford friends!  Spring is right around the corner, with only 14 days until it’s official start on the calendar.  With warmer weather and flowers beginning to bloom over the next few months, new trends for dinner parties and weddings are beginning to come forth as well.  This week on Waterford Wednesday we want to share with you the top “looks” for all Spring 2019 social events, whether it be a small, intimate get-together or a large wedding celebration.  Uniquely-enough, all of these designs and vendors on the blog today are from our 2019’s A Crystal Clear Vision!  That’s right, folks.  In case you missed our one-of-a-kind wedding show, here’s your first look at some of our beautiful creations and collaborations:

Black Accents

Any bride or party host shooting for a “chic” look, may want to consider adding touches of black to their tablescape.  Simply said, the contrast and depth that this specific color adds to the decor can in many ways create a higher level of elegance and debonair to the overall atmosphere of the event.

Velvet Linen

If you are seeking to create a warm, cozy atmosphere for your special day, velvet linen is the way to go.  With this particular linen being complimentary to almost any palette of colors, your options are essentially endless.  In general, thicker fabrics that are stark (like velvet) in comparison to the light, airy linens that we have seen in the past will encourage much richness and texture to your tablescape as a whole.

Greenery

As in 2018, greenery is continuing in its trend to be an organic choice for centerpieces at weddings and dinner parties alike.  The authenticity of this day and age parallels this natural “look”.  Similarly, as indoor venues continue to be an option that many brides and hosts lean towards, this greenery foliage is a great and cost-effective way to bring the outdoors in.

Pastels

Soft touches of blush, celadon green, lavendar, beige, and sky blue will definitely make its returned debut in Spring of 2019.  In combination with lots of greenery and metallic, the earthy, marbled “look” you are going for will ultimately be brought to life.  As in the past, pastels are a safe choice for wedding decor; however, in 2019, these colors will be paired with bold accents of organic and metallic, adding unique dimension to your traditional design.

Vibrant and Bold

Wanting to make a statement at your 2019 Spring event?  Well, this trend is for you!  This bold and the vibrant “look” is new as an option for a sophisticated client, seeking to create that “wow” factor that so many brides and hosts are desiring now-a-days.  Ditching the rigid color palette for a variety of complementary shades alongside velvet proves to be a contender for the Spring’s best weddings.
