Wow, does that extra day from a holiday make anyone else feel like the week flies by or is it just us? Last weekend was AMAZING. Even with the reduced guest counts, we had SO. MANY. EVENTS. If you’re in the industry, then you know just how weird and slow it’s been through the spring season and now gearing up for the fall season we don’t know what’s to come! We had an incredible hustle and bustle weekend that made us forget things are not as they normally are.

We are sooooo excited to have some photos ready to share from one of our weekend events. This one took place at a gorgeous estate up in Maryland. A super happy and beautiful couple really deserved this day to be perfect!We are just loving the simplicity and natural look Haley and Brandon were going for with their linen choices. We just love a good place setting shot, don’t you?? Keeping it super simple and trendy with the menu card and the cute napkin fold in a knot. Such a small detail can make all the difference!If you’re looking for beautiful and whimsical sweetheart table ideas, then you have to check out our voile! This is a super delicate and flowy material that is sheer and can billow down to the floor giving an extremely magical feel to the sweetheart table.We weren’t kidding when we said they are probably one of the most happy & beautiful couples! Like just look at this photo. Couples this happy and in love make our job so much easier and gives us butterflies every time.

Lesner Inn Vendor of the Month Feature

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! It’s officially September! We are hopeful that our fall events get to go off without a hitch! This month we are SO excited because we have partnered with The Lesner Inn to be featured all month long!! If you haven’t  seen their latest updates on Instagram, they have been featuring an incredible new vendor every month!!

Let’s tell you a little bit of what’s in store for this month. We have some amazing tips that will be shared with you regarding the history of Waterford & how we set ourselves apart from others. Each Wednesday there will be a post that includes some of our fun facts, tips, and most importantly linen advice from us- the professionals!

On Sundays, a super fun segment they have going is Spotify Sunday. We came up with 4 of your MUST HAVE songs on that wedding playlist. We wanted to be versatile so stay tuned to see what we suggest.

Lastly, all month you can find our decorated vendor table in their office. We decked this table out y’all!!!!! The Lesner has some of our NEW favorite linens- we’re not kidding these are legit our new favs. If you plan on touring The Lesner Inn, the sooner the better!! Pop in sometime this month to chat with the ladies and scope out our vendor table. We just know you will love it as much as we do! We’ll attach a small sneak peek for you below.

We’re Hiring for Fall 2020!

Happy Wednesday beautiful people! This is a fun and exciting blog because we are looking to expand our team!!! We are currently hiring for a bunch of different positions and want YOU to be a part of it!

We are hiring for event staff, which is a part time job primarily on the weekends- but can extend to some weekday hours depending on event schedule and your availability. Just a few details about this position include, familiarizing yourself with the behind the scenes aspect of an event rental company. What goes into pulling inventory for events, preparing inventory items for events, but also setting up and executing the events on the day of! This is just a little tidbit of what you would be a part of as you apply to join our team! We’re also hiring for delivery staff position which includes part time hours during the weekend as well. Delivery staff is responsible for the execution of deliveries and sometimes setups at private residences or event venues. When applying for this position, you must be comfortable lifting and unloading tables and/or chairs.And the best part of delivery staff- maybe you’ll get to challenge Vic to a rock paper scissors battle on who gets to drive the box truck, lol.

Another position we’re very excited to offer is an intern position- VIRTUALLY and IN PERSON. We know just how much COVID has interfered with school from kindergarten up to college. We want to be able to help and provide that internship credit for students anywhere. Internship includes mass media marketing, time in the warehouse learning about the inventory and event preparations, greeting clients, observing design meetings in the showroom, and SO. MUCH. MORE. Recap of The Summer Social Fest 2020

Hello everyone & happy Wednesday!! We are especially excited for this blog because we are recapping all of our amazing fun from The Summer Social Fest which was held virtually last weekend. As we are all aware, COVID-19 has thrown a wrench into A LOT of plans. Weddings, graduations, birthdays, vacations, and even just a regular work schedule. COVID is unique in the sense we have all been affected by it some way.

For us, and tons of other vendors and of course SO. MANY. COUPLES any and all events and gatherings have come to a screeching halt. What a whirlwind and adjustment it’s been to say the least. As COVID became more and more dangerous we were left with no choice but to reconfigure our summer bridal show. The result= Summer Social Fest held on Facebook Live! With the help of our partner Missy with Antonia Christianson Events, Mike Dragon with Dragon Photo Studio, Misty with Misty Saves The Day, Ashley of Studio I Do, and the crew at Stage Right Lighting, we brought this idea to life!

After months of replanning our super fun social meet and greet to be exclusively online the weekend finally came to fruition July 17-19. We had about 30 vendors sign up to meet about 100 couples all virtually!!!! We are so thankful and thrilled to have each and every vendor participate and help bring this idea full circle. The best part, is that we were able to help our vendors AND future couples all for free!!!!! This was our way of really letting couples know how much we feel for you during this time and want to support you and give you something to look forward to because we all care that much.

With all of that being said, we want to shout out and thank each vendor that chose to be a part of this magical weekend, but also show you a glimpse of the INSANE fashion show we put on. I mean, we don’t like to toot our own horn but we really pulled it off with this entire weekend and feel incredibly blessed we made this happen!

How to Get Prepared for The Summer Social Fest

Happy Summer Social Fest week!!!!! We are officially TWO days away from The Summer Social Fest being held this weekend on Facebook Live!!! Not only do you get to meet the area’s best event vendors, but you get to do it from the comfort of your own home. Now come on, what really could get better than this?? We came up with some ideas of what  you can do to get the most out of this weekend.

First- of course is check out the schedule prior! While we have done our part to make sure all of our vendors lead you through the FB Live event flawlessly, it’s always a good idea to take a peek at the times of the vendors you’re looking forward to “meeting”! This way you can set those alarms and get ready for their designated show time.

Second- the event will be posted to each vendor’s page after their designated show time! This is great for anyone planning an event but having to work on the weekends or simply not being able to catch every vendor you might like to.

Third- write down your questions. Most of the vendors will be allotting a little bit of time at the end of their segment to answer any questions to help with your planning.

Top 3 Most Asked Rental Questions

Looking to plan an event? Whether it’s a wedding, bar mitzvah, baby shower, bridal shower, or graduation party- adding linens to your event will elevate the space. Don’t quite know where to start? Today’s blog is about some of our most asked questions. While there are plenty that we get asked, these three really stick out and will help you be the most prepared when setting up your rentals with us.

Answers:

  1. Our rental fee covers the price of the linen, as well as the washing, pressing, storing, and labor it takes to put your order together. Each linen comes pressed and on a hanger to decrease wrinkles. The only additional fees are taxes where applicable and delivery, set up or shipping. Any damages or missing items will be assessed after your order is returned to us.
  2. Yes, you can make changes to your order! The deadline for final changes is 2 weeks prior to your event. After this time you may not make reductions to your order but you can make additions, however we cannot guarantee we will have your item in stock.
  3. We require a deposit of ⅓ of the total to hold an order. The remaining balance is not due until 2 weeks prior to the event, but you’re more than welcome to set up a payment plan or make payments whenever you choose.

The Summer Social Fest 2020

Hey there! Happy JULY 1st!!!!! How crazy is it that we are already halfway through 2020??? This month is also a very special time in that we are hosting our first ever VIRTUAL bridal show with our main chick, Missy with Antonia Christianson Events. This is our second year hosting our super fun, laid back, Summer Social bridal event only with a twist! Instead of having our guests and vendors meet one another at The Woman’s Club of Portsmouth, we are going LIVE on Facebook.

We do love events, but we love our couples and vendor friends even more and we just didn’t think it was safe to risk having this event in person. Our Hope For 2020

Happy Wednesday! You know what that means- time for Waterford Wednesday. Okay- let’s be real the last few months of 2020 have been ROUGH for everyone. We are missing our staff, our events, our vendor friends, and all of our amazing clients so much! We wanted this blog today to be about all the good that weddings and events can bring & maybe if we speak it into existence they’ll be back sooner than later. *Fingers crossed*

At the start of this amazing new year AND decade- our friends at The Lesner Inn asked us to be a part of an incredible & elegant 20’s theme styled shoot. The vendor list for this one was off the chain! And the girls knocked it out of the park with this design and attention to detail.Might we add- they used some of our favorite linens to give you all the 20’s feels. This black and silver metallic brushed jacquard linen is reversible. SAY WHATTTT. You have the option to use this side that shows more of the darker colors but flip it to have a similar pattern with the lighter colors popping!Oh the chandelier and the dangling pearls add for an effortless 20’s look.Want to know what else is reversible? You guessed it- the napkins can be folded on either the shiny side or the matte side. This photo shows the napkins folded shiny side up and you can see the subtle texture that comes with a majestic linen.Adding some mermaid sequins is sure to catch the eyes of your guest. This linen is super fun & unique!Black and gold is such a timeless look that can be transformed and elevated from decade to decade or even 1920 –> 2020!As always- a perfect way to add some pizzaz to your chairs is by using sashes. This is a 4 corner knot and adds a beautiful accent to the chairs.While we know 2020 has been no walk in the park for any of us, we are confident that events will be up and running in no time! To all of the couples affected by COVID-19 we are rooting for you!!! Tips for Being Prepared on a Virtual Design Meeting

Happy Waterford Wednesday! While spending some time thinking of the perfect blog topic for this week- this idea just popped into my head & I’m just going to run with it. As we are in the middle of a very crazy & unknown time that has come with Coronavirus- you may have noticed lots of vendors still trying to keep the planning alive! We, along with a lot of other local Coastal Virginia vendors are encouraging those planning big events to keep. on. planning. While it’s clear that there are restrictions with regards to businesses being open for in person meetings and consults, the sky is the limit with meeting them virtually!!!

Here at Waterford Event Rentals, this virus has allowed us to incorporate things into our daily lives that we have been wanting to for quite some time. For example, it is now available for everyone to look at our calendar and schedule themselves for a virtual meeting all on their own. This eliminates one additional step for you as a consumer & the possibilities of playing phone tag- which I’m sure we all run into on occasions.

When scheduling a virtual design meeting with us- here are some things you can expect! Once you schedule the appointment, you will receive an email from us confirming that you got your appointment. At this time, we ask you for a few vital details to make the most of your time during the virtual meeting. Also, very important in this email you will receive your Zoom meeting ID and password.

So now what? This is where you should begin to think of a few questions that you want to ask your event professionals. WE are here for YOU. We want you to feel comfortable & want to make sure if you have concerns, those get addressed! Here are some things you can do to better inform your professionals on what exactly you’re looking for. Send pictures! All of them- even if you’re only referencing one small detail in a huge Pinterest collage, all those tiny details matter to us! Send us your guest counts and overestimate. It’s always better to expect too many people early on than to risk items getting double booked closer to your big day. Let us know where the event is being held, and any information you’ve received from them that might be important for us to know- for example, can you get early access to the venue? Do items have to be removed from the venue the day of? These are all questions you will want to know and can possibly save you some money in the long run. Last tip- don’t be afraid to ask them specifics.
