2020 Color of the Year!

We are soooo stoked that the color blue has been chosen as this year’s Pantone Color of the Year. Just to remind you, here are the Pantone Colors of the Year for the last couple years: 2019- coral, 2018- violet, 2017- greenery. When it comes to picking wedding colors, there are a few that will always remain classics, blue is one of them. Some of the other colors that are a good go to when deciding what to pick for your big day include blush, navy, burgundy, greenery, and all things neutral.

This week for the blog we wanted to take it back to some of our FAVORITE blue weddings- we know you will just love.Kirstyn Marie Photography

This romantic look was from a few years ago using one of the most beautiful, classic prints. This blue pottery print linen was used all throughout this wedding in the form of linens, runners, and sashes. The clean look of the white plates on top of the gold chargers provide the most beautiful place setting.Dani White Photography

This wedding from the Half Moone incorporated a simple blue “Panama” napkin among our “Ivory Belize” tablecloth with hopes to give their guests an elegant tropical feel.Planner: Antonia Christianson Events | Photography: Ethan Yang Photography

Who doesn’t love a good sash? Adding in that wedding color with a sash is such a fun way to bring your chairs to life & likely would be something unexpected by your guests.Rob Korb Photography

This next photo- I mean it just speaks for itself. The colors, the patterns, the vibrancy. WE. LOVE. IT. ALL. Blue is just one of those colors that you really can just tie into anything & this photo shows nothing less.Dragon Photo Studio

Throwing it back to a fall shoot we did with an INCREDIBLE vision. We are using the fun blue and white pattern with super vibrant floral. Did you peep the navy velvet napkin too? To die for.Design: Lustre Theory | Photography: Molly Lichten Photography

After this, don’t you just love the 2020 Color of the Year?? We sure do.

Fun Colors to Bring Your Reception to Life

Our favorite thing about being a part of so many amazing setups and weddings is seeing just how different and unique each and every bride is. In our area, there are so many venues that every bride gets to transform by bringing out their own personality in their reception. This year we had a beautiful wedding at the Historic Post Office.

Leah brought her reception to life with the use of a deep teal color accompanied by some fun pinks and oranges.A white full length linen was used and paired the teal napkins along with a blush chiffon runner. The teal stands out so well when paired with these romantic colors. The guest tables all had the same beautiful flowers but differed with a smaller romantic centerpiece, or a tall abstract bouquet. We just love the look of these linens with our mahogany chairs. The dark color of the chairs adds such a beautiful contrast. How stunning is this sweetheart table. This might be one of our favorites this year! The colors look like they were meant for each other and add such a lovely touch to this table. Who doesn’t love a good sequin linen and with flowers like this…. YES PLEASE.The cake table also took the main color of the reception with the same teal polyester linen. The wedding cake is beautiful and simple but the few floral additions takes it over the top.Rob & Leah, your wedding was absolutely stunning. We are so grateful you chose us for your linen needs on your big day! Enjoy your first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs.

Waterford Wednesday: Head Table vs. Sweetheart Table

Happy Waterford Wednesday!
When planning a wedding reception, one aspect that brides/grooms need to decide on is – head table vs. sweetheart table. While this may seem like a trivial decision to some, there is often a lot of back and forth on which one to choose, so today we’re here to help you out! We’ve come up with a list of questions to ask yourself that will hopefully steer you toward the right decision for you/your event!

Is intimate time during dinner important to you?

If enjoying an intimate first dinner with your new spouse is high on your priority list, then having a Sweetheart Table is the best option here! Of course at your wedding there is no such thing as full privacy (everyone came to celebrate you after all!), but having a sweetheart table will remove you from your wedding guests in a small aspect.

Is your wedding party small, medium, or large?

Depending on the way you answer this question, your decision might be made up for you! In our experience, a moderately sized wedding party makes for a more graceful/organized looking Head Table vs. a larger party. With a larger wedding party there are a lot of considerations you have to think of before agreeing on a Head Table. Will my venue have enough space to accommodate this? Will the group look unified at the head table or just crowded?

Can your whole wedding party be seated together without separation?

This question is a bit of an extension of the previous one. When thinking about a Head Table you should consider the fact that it is singular, and is intended to be one table, not multiple! So, if your wedding party will fit comfortably without looking disjointed, we say go for it! If the table needs to be scattered or have people left off due to space limitations, it may be a better option to forgo the Head Table option and stick to a nice Sweetheart Table!

Do you want to be the focal point?

I mean it is your day after all so it definitely can be ALL about you! If you want all eyes on you a Sweetheart Table is a necessity when it comes to your reception layout. I mean where else would you eyes be with the newlyweds under this GORGEOUS arch? A sweetheart table is also great if you want to incorporate some high-end linens without having to spend a fortune since it will just be on your table and not all of the guest tables!

Whichever table option you choose we know that it will be special for you and your new spouse! Your wedding day will be a whirlwind, so use these questions as a step to make at least one decision easier!

Trends For The New Year

Trends For The New Year

With a new year, come new trends and colors.  This year, mint green will be the go to color for many brides.  Other cool colors such as pale blue sage, and sea foam green will give a similar effect.  To add a pop of color, many weddings will also see linens in bright shades of poppy red, lemon zest and nectarine.

Printed linens will also be making an appearance.  Try Damask, Stripes, or Chevron for something fun and different!  We now carry these linens!!
