Welcome back to our Feature Friday: Staff Edition!
Today we are excited to introduce you to one of our awesome Lead Event Staff members! Check out Kendal’s interview below and get to know more about her and what she does at Waterford!
View More: http://robkorbphotography.pass.us/waterford-2014Name: Kendalyn Hersh (but most everyone just calls me Kendal!)

Age: 19

Position: Lead Event Staff

What does being a Lead Event Staff mean? To me, being a Lead Event Staff member is an opportunity to learn and apply the importance of time management! Either by being at the office earlier to double check the van, recognizing other members strengths and assigning them a task to speed up setups/breakdowns, or figuring out the most efficient way to clean 500 chargers in less than two hours at the office!

How long have you been with Waterford?: This will be my second wedding season at Waterford, and honestly the time has FLOWN by!

College/Major: Radford University, GO HIGHLANDERS! Proudly majoring in Bio-Pre Med with a minor in Chemistry (yes, blondes can be nerds too).

Describe yourself in 3 words: Focused, Friendly, Hilarious 🙂

Describe WER in 3 words: Unique, Professional, Family!

Favorite WER Memory: Haha, this is a good one. . .I was breaking down a wedding by myself late one night and as I was carrying all the dirty linens in trash bags out to our fabulous van, I hear a person call out “I just wanted to tell you you’re the prettiest trash girl I’ve ever seen!” I wasn’t sure whether or not to take that as a compliment, but I got a good laugh out of it!

Favorite Linen: Easy! I’m IN LOVE with our specialty Petal Linens. They add just the right amount of flare and texture to any event!

Favorite Sash Tie: The four corner bow. . it’s the perfect way to frame a chair with a pop of color!

If you aren’t working, where would we find you on the weekend?:  Either the beach or the gym!  Since I believe I’m a mermaid at heart it’s pretty normal to find me dipping my toes in the water somewhere!

Craziest setup story: My craziest set up has to be last summer when Hannah and I were asked to hurry to the oceanfront for an emergency wedding set up for a bride who’s vendors thought the event was the NEXT day! We had to think on our toes and cover over 150 chairs and tie sashes in under an hour!

This OR That:
 satin sash OR organza sash
setup OR breakdown
drive the WER van OR ride shotgun

What’s the most significant thing you’ve learned while working in the wedding/event industry?: I honestly have learned so much from Alyse and the wedding industry. . .this job has certainly rounded me into more of a leader and dependable person than I ever expected and I have had so much fun along the way!
